No. They don't care that much. I got into a school oh whose secondary I forgot a word and misspelled another. As long as it's understandable, you'll be fine.

I'm in this boat *LOL* I sat on my secondaries for a long time due to research (I'm wrapping up a PhD) and then blitzed all 32 out in a panic. When I went back, I DEFINITELY found minor typos in several. I'm just hoping they understand!
I had a few, and got interviews at some of those schools. It doesn't help you, but there's nothing you can do about it now and it's not that big of a deal.
I don't have an acceptance yet, so I can't say it hurts or helps but one of my activities descriptions (for my thesis project) says "...investigating whether or not molecule x and molecule y have a casual, inverse relationship."

One of my essays at Case had a sentence fragment, and I noticed it after I submitted it and recycled it to use as an essay at another school (when I corrected it for the next school.)
Funny thing - I got into Case, with the typo. And got waitlisted at the school that didn't have the typo.

It probably is going to hurt you...but it is also not the greatest idea.

it's not a huge deal, i found some minor ones in one of mine, and I just got accepted to that school. I think as long as you're clear, and it looks like you are literate. It's more about what you say ad how you say it. 🙂

I don't mean to be contrary but this kind of is a big deal. Making small mistakes is something the adcoms take into account for certain. If you there is gross misspellings then they will also question your facility with the english language...ability to communicate is paramount in the application process (on the abstract side, not the #'s side). If you can't take the time out to proof your paper then that indicates sloppiness, carelessness, laziness, incompetence, or all of the above. I 100% guarantee if there is more than a couple of mistakes it will be taken into account.
I think SDN tends to be overly critical. Lets face it, we are all human, and they know this is a stressful time...so if it is a small mistake, it probably won't kill your chances. If it looks like you put together your secondary in 10 minutes, that may be another issue though.
A typo is different than completely butchering the english language. A missed letter is different than spellin lik dis. If an anal pre-med missed it, it's prob no big deal.
Most places expect a quick turn around between receiving and submitting secondaries so there are bound to be a typo or two.

Lol, I'd say its not a big deal, one of my interviewers had my PS out when she was interviewing me, and I saw something circled at the end of the PS, but I wasn't sure why, later when I checked that sentence, I realized I had a typo, and she saw it and marked it hahahahaha. Result? Accepted. 
I think it depends on the person. To me, that would be a big deal. That shows that you didn't spend enough time proofing your application and what you wrote.
