I also interviewed there on the Jan 16, but I have not heard back yet. Oh by the way, my name is Jason. I called this morning and they said it was b/c he committee did not review my application the last time they met and that it is going to be reviewed in their next meeting at the beginning of February. As for the school, I really liked it. Everyone there seemed very friendly and I thought the clinic was nice also. All of the students seemed to be happy they chose to go there and I think that says alot about the school.

Hi guys!

If you guys don't mind....can you tell me what your stats were and if you were in-state or out-of-state? I'm also applying to U of M, B and would like to know approximately where I stand in comparison to you guys. My stats are approx 3.0 and 19/17.

Thanx,

I interviewed there. Expect two professors and 1 student (3rd year) to interview privately. They asked questions such as:
1) How did you study for the DATs
2) Why Maryland?
3) Why did you choose the undergrad school you attended?
4)Why do you want to become a dentist?
5)Also, something from your essay.
These are some of the questions I remember.
Everyone was really friendly. The clinics are real nice.
Are you a Maryland resident? It would greatly help you if you were.

iflossdaily,

the interview at umaryland was pretty standard. the questions posed were the exact ones that cs1978 listed, plus one or two questions pertaining to the nature of oral health and dentistry. i was interviewed by one professor and a student (also third year) back in september. i would say to not worry too much whether or not you are an out-of-state resident; they accept a good amount of out-of-staters. good luck to you on the 6th! just be yourself and you will do just fine.
