Hey guys, I'm coming from Seattle, Washington state USA for a trauma rotation at Witwatersrand in Jo'berg. Does anyone work there or have any information on the hospital/trauma/ER? Anything that can help me understand what I'm getting into would be great. Thanks. Todd Davis

I'm going there in Feb for an elective.
Dawn Francis coordinates Int'l student electives and is excellent with e-mails and organizing everything for you.

Is the website.

I've heard very good things about the hospital there.

PM me if you have specific questions.

Edit: oops- sounds like you already have it planned etc.
Basically, watch out for needlestick injuries from staff - not to say that they are not careful but I think they are quite 'quick' at what they do.... I think you get a lot of responsibility there if you show that you are keen. Be careful at night, don't stop at traffic lights at night... etc etc.

That's all 2nd hand information I have heard from my friends who went.
