Yea I don't know if I mentioned this but I'm on wait list just to see if I can get in (from the middle 1/3), and what financial aid they'll give me. Either way, I'm 99.99999% sure I'll be withdrawing.

don't worry guys, there are still withdrawals so they are in between accumulating all the withdrawals and then sending out acceptances at once. if anything, they meet wednesdays to decide who'll make it this week. so tomorrow there will be more movement for sure!

guys, nice guess but first, I'm NOT MR. ROSSO. it would be sorta cruel if i was. But I talked to Mr. Rosso via email and have some inside connections via a UB med student. They are still waiting for withdrawals and movement will likely happen near the end of this week. i just love this site because I really hate waiting so i thought if i have any news, i'd let you guys know.

lol ah, Dmcc. But you really do sound as friendly and outgoing as Mr. Rosso did on our tour of UB on interview day....Anyway, yes good luck everyone.

yeh lets just dont lose hope, but its just kind of not cool to get 0 acceptances on May 16th where in the past 2 years so much movement had happend ....

Maybe they just had too many withdrawals in one day to process and communicate acceptances to fill these spots😉
On a more serious note, remember they stopped interviewing 2 weeks later this year, which means that the list will be behind last year's by approximately 2 weeks. Stay positive guys....we will all get through this. Hopefully most of us can chill out together in August and laugh about this whole ordeal over a few beers.
 
just a boost of confidence hopefully. my fiance was told bottom of bottom 1/3 last year. he got the call a few weeks before classes started. it was his only acceptance and he had jsut resubmitted for this years cycle! SO PLEASE DONT LOSE HOPE. He submitted a letter of intent and an extra lor but not sure if it made any difference.
 
you know what i love about you guys?? well i'll tell you...you guys always keep this thread alive. I know I can check this thing every half an hour or so (not that i do that kind of thing : ) ) and i will see a new post. thank you for all your info...it really does help a lot.

For those of you who were accepted from the waitlist, how long does Buffalo give you until you have to give them a response? A Week? Two weeks?

Hey munchkin, I didn't get my package in the mail (sent to my parents' house) yet but I'm assuming you at least should send the deposit in asap to secure your stop (unless you intend to withdraw).

I was just curious to know how long we would have to wait for seats to open up by people who do intend to withdraw if they were accepted from the waitlist.
 
I report some movement - pulled off top 1/3. Hope that means good news for a lot of you guys!
 
odd...i tried to check my status page and twice it said "amcas id not found"

so I'm thinking about calling the admissions office today to see if my WAITLIST position has changed since I last checked back in mid-april. Just curious for those who have called, do you usually asked to speak to Mr. Rosso, or just run your question to whomever answers the phone?

I just don't want to come off as a nuisance!

....Lets hope for some movement today!!!

i just spoke with mr rosso for the first time...he is even nicer than i recall...and very helpful! don't feel you will be a nuisance.

guys, already one person was pulled off. that means hope is still alive! remember, the website updates is not nearly as fast as oral updates via phone. i found out via the phone but my status page was not updated until saturday. i was told on friday. remember how johnnydrama received a housing emal without knowing he's been accepted. it could be the case here. well, keep the good news rolling today and tomorrow!
 
I love all of you guys, becasue you are all so supportive ... the ones who have been accepted are still among us and are giving us hope! Love you all ... 🙂

Lets not lose hope, yes this years seem so much slower but lets just think about being classmates in the fall.
 
I agree with jhu1....I've only been on this site for a couple of days but its really reassuring that if i get in, you'll be my classmates. There's so much support going on here and its cool to see us pulling together! Thanks!! And if/when I know anything you'll be....almost the first to know, after my parents. 🙂
 
hey guys, i wrote a 3 paragraph letter of intent to Buffalo a while back at the end of march and it appeared to work. (I also had a professor write an additional letter of rec with the LOI). so if you want to give that a try, nothing really hurts at this point. the dean seems very reasonable and I think there must be some added points for additional accomplishments and interest in attending their school.

What did you talk about for 3 paragraphs? I'm impressed.
 
What would be nice is something like.. i called -> bottom third.. sent in letter of intent, called ->middle third that would be the ultimate proof
 
Although this is a tad different from waitlist stories.....
I sent a letter of intent (more like an update) the week before my interview and I got accepted the day after my interview🙂 Don't know if it made a difference but it could have.

on another note, for those accepted/and those who will go to UB when accepted......do you guys think you will have a roomate, or will living alone be better??? I am trying to decide this myself.

i called today--mr. rosso said he is not allowed to tell students which part of the third they are in.

he did say they are in the upper third (hehe-we knew that already)
 
hey hopefulmedstudent, the first paragraph, i talked about how UB fits into my future aspirations, highlighting the special things I found about UB. The second paragraph, i emphasized new things i've been doing. then the third, i focused on lessons i learned from those experiences and how i can apply that to UB's educational environment. I really think it makes logical sense that if you are in the middle third or something, writing a letter showing interest really sets you apart from someone who's in the same position but did not show any interest. so yea, i hope it all will turn out the best.

He told me they are moving quite swiftly in the waitlist and as of today, it seems as though they are right as where they were last year. He said there has been alot of turn over (so thats really good news🙂 ). He said that he cant tell me anything about how it will go this year. I asked him if he could give some info on where the list was right now. He said they are still in the upper third, but moving down. From the way he said it I'm assuming that he means they are in the upper upper 1/3 right now, but moving into the middle upper 1/3 🙂 (but im not sure of that since he didn't say that directly).
Lastly, I asked him about last year and if it was true that they moved in to the middle 1/3 by the end of May. And he gave me a long nooooo. Hahah, he is too funny. He said that there has been some false information as to when they moved in the middle 1/3 last year, and it was a bit later than the end of May. So based on everything, it seems that it is going like last year, but could change.

Mr. Rosso Specifically told me that LOI or anything else will not change anything as your final score will not change after your interview! However, he told me feel free to send extra LOR, LOI, ....

Mr. Rosso Rocks ... but howcome we don't notice them moving swiftly? Based on the thread from last year they were in middle-third by end of May so ...
