Questions is do I become the evil person that posts the link to the accept / decline form for everyone to panic even more.

edit: lol i found it two years ago and they entered people in as they sent out emails so it was useless that year anyway
 
when I applied I was to stressed not to try it. Only a couple more days though hang in there. get through finals then go drink and celebrate so that monday you can begin the celebrations all over again.

Yeah -- I'm the one who spoiled everything last year by posting that link.

I decided not to post the link here this year to avoid the emotional mess that it brought about. I posted the link on my blog a week or so ago, but I warn you -- it will ruin it for you! Do as nyanko is doing and avoid at all costs!

what is this form? i am a little scared to look........will someone tell me before i drive myself insane thinking about it.
 
Okay, so I checked it just this one time, but will try to refrain in the next couple of days so I don't ruin anything for myself . . .

For those who are curious, the form asks for your First Name, Last Name, and VMCAS ID Number. When you push submit it is supposed to tell you if you're in or not.

For now it just says, "Sorry, that Name/ID pair does not match." I'm hoping this is neither good nor bad, just neutral . . . ?

Its the form you fill out as part of your acceptance saying your coming, ordering your white coat, and choosing the computer you want. And filling out your demographic info for the class stats stuff.

i think if i give in even once i will sit here (maybe even call sick to work tomorrow) and check it non-stop. i am gonna go for hike and avoid the computer for a few hours....i wish i didnt know about this extra form to check every 20 min!!! ahhh

Same thing for me as well.. and I don't know if that's good or bad either. Successful at giving me a heart attack though.
 
I wouldn't really read too much into it at least until we know they started sending out acceptances.

So far all that we know have gone out are some rejections 🙂thumbdown) so maybe they still haven't decided on some waitlisters or something, or maybe they're waiting on the dean's approval or just haven't entered everyone in yet.

As I said two years ago nobody could log in there until after they got the email, even the people who were accepted later.

Those 2013'ers are still evil, though. 😉
 
Class of 2014 should post it next year so it's like a vicious cycle of evilness!

To not panic anyone my ... post was cause I posted something that someone had received but they clarified it was from another school not Davis.

Nyanko, I got your 3/10 PM, but I'm still tearing my hair out. Fortunately, I'm riding in the truck with a friend this week in between working, so I don't have too much extra energy.

Needs more drama, but the suspense element is there for sure. Quick, someone talk about how they will be an animal rights vet or how they've already changed their member status to "Veterinary Student" before their first day of class!
 
How bout some mass transit info to ease the drama?

Anyone have any experience taking the train from Davis to UC berkeley?
Is it reliable? A good way to commute? Will my wife divorce me for forcing her onto a rickety, broken down, smelly old contraption?

Gotta go to my last biochem class now but will look for your replies later.

Roy Hobbs, at least I don't leave all MY chickens semi dead. Pshhhh. 😉 I need to know how the heck you chose that name, it certainly doesn't fit you (unless you have some deep dark secret you're not telling me).

I just about had a heart attack when I saw people have been receiving rejections, I checked my email with my heart in my throat and my hands shaking. I know it doesn't mean anything that I don't have a rejection (possibly yet) but it's nice to not have one so far, to be honest. I'm really sorry for those of you who got them, I don't even want to think of how it feels. :scared:

I just finished my last midterm before Spring break so I have nothing to distract me, oh boy! I vow to stay away from that link, though, otherwise I'll have a coronary.

ETA: Startingovervet, I take the train all the time, it is pretty easy and convinient. It's also clean, they have a food train, and it's a really scenic view (except when you go through the refineries in Martinez, then it just stinks). I don't know about taking it every day, though, for myself it would get really expensive. Not to mention that it drops you off quite far from the UC Berkeley campus and you have to take multiple buses to get from the Berkeley train station to the campus (I usually have someone pick me up as the buses are unreliable here).

Actually there is this cool system that Davis and Berkeley have set up where it is free to travel between the two campuses. Well atleast they had it 3 years ago when my sister went there. If they dont have that bus then the AMTRAK is awesome and I loved the ride from Sacramento to Berkeley. I have taken it many times :]

i took the amtrak from davis to emeryville and it was 22 bucks (i got off a couple dollars for having AAA). it'll probably be a little bit more for berk because i think that's the next stop. they were doing some track work or something that day and i had to get off an earlier stop and take a charter bus that was waiting for us to emeryville. the amtrak is pretty nice imo and the scenery was quite nice and peaceful.

but i'm an out of towner so those are my measly two cents on my one time experience.

yea i felt like throwing up as i opened up my email today, but no news. tomorrow is another day as i think today's excitement might be over, being 630 now. probably the first time i felt happy to not see anything in my inbox.
 
I almost forgot about the Davis-Berkeley bus! Don't quote me on this part, but I think you have to be a student to take the bus. But it is cheap. I don't think it runs daily, and from the few times I have taken it is as slow or slower than if you were to drive yourself (not to mention they are really sketchy with the schedule, they are prone to cancellations/lateness/etc). Not to mention they have downgraded from your typical Greyhound sized buses to mini buses due to budget cuts, and I think they've cut services.

So I've been checking SDN BEFORE checking my email so I at least know when to be expecting an email... so after reading today's posts, I go to check my email, my eyes on high alert for anything Davis related...

and see an email with the subject line "UC Davis School of Vet Med"

I freaked out... and then realized it was an old email...🙁

do the rest of you also find ot evil that they send out the rejections over time, giving us false hope and prolonged feelings of anxiety! I know that it is because their internet server won't allow mass emails but I'm going insane. And I'm driving my boyfriend insane as well. I think he is ready to call them himself so I return to reality!😱
 
This is better than watching American Idol, I must say. Its like when all the contestants are sitting in the lobby, waiting to walk into that room and find out if they have made the top 24...

Much more entertaining than trying to study...😱
 
I think I'll go ahead and change my status to "veterinarian" -- after all, I will be one someday, right? 😛

I have a hockey game tonight, league semifinals as a matter of fact!

Last week I was very anxious and amassed 2 penalties and made the other team very angry. We'll see about tonight.... :meanie:

OK so my distractions arn't workin' so well right about now. Virology<<<<UC Davis emails on the interest scale. I think I checked my email every five minutes today but no news.

Amtrak has a monthly pass so price comes way down..
