Do you guys think the acceptaces will be sent out al the same time, or will they be staggered? Also, has anyone recieved a rejection?
 
I feel your pain, really. 😱 I will have to admit that I am secretly hoping that my friend will not be accepted, so that they will be forced to join me at MN, but I know how it is. I found out that MN had mailed their letters out from a friend at 8:30AM, and had to wait until 6:30PM to be able to check my mailbox. One of the longest day of my entire life! Good luck, and knock them dead.

BTW, I can attest to the fact that 2 accepted candidates will be declining the offer from Davis.
 
just called Kathleen (btw, the nicest lady ive ever talked to on the phone....ever), and i answered my own question. They will be sending out a few acceptances today, but they are aiming for all acceptances and rejections to be sent on Monday the 23rd. She said also, that this could be extended for a few days given how their system is working. I am ready to know! its been too long!

WHOAAAAA...i can log in....and not only can I log in, It asks me if I accept their offer.... and it even asks for my coat size!!.....this is killing me!!!!

i got rejected 🙁 i can't really be upset since i got in once and turned in down. they certainly had every right to not give me a second chance. but, it still stings.

I do not understand that at ALL! I'm so sorry, pups. 🙁 I mean, you'll go to Penn and do fantastically and Davis will have totally missed out. You'll be a stunning success either way, but I still have to say that I'm very sad. Probably mostly for selfish reasons, though. I really wanted you to come here next year! 😳

I too was not accepted this year 🙁...well, I gave it my BEST, and I felt very confident after my interview 😳.

Now I am off to Colorado for their 5 year program. CONGRATULATIONS to all who are accepted, you are awesome!!

it looks like they really ARE staggering things and sending them out in a somewhat random order this year...unlike the last two where they just said they were.

Just FYI about that web address. I cannot login. If you're asked if you accept the position, congratulations! Not to pry...but does anyone know that they're turning down their acceptance to UCD?
 
Argh, it's so frustrating! They obviously know who they're accepting, since they already have a waitlist. So why can't they let us all know today?! Now that it's after 5pm, I guess I can stop obsessing over my email.

It's going to be a loooooong weekend...

I'm debating on it, I'm really set on Minnesota because I dont think anywhere could beat the program I'm interested in, Davis has a great program too but caters more towards different areas of it. Just having to decide if the extra $15,000 a year is worth it.
 
I interviewed at Davis, but got a rejection email this morning. It's okay though and it's not like getting upset will turn my rejection into an acceptance notice.

... and I feel like Purdue is a perfect fit for me.

Haha, funny. I am originally from Minnesota! I'm currently a CA resident (moved here for school), but I applied to MN hoping that since my entire family lives there I might be given a bit of a second look, but that didn't happen! Congrats on having some wonderful options! Not too bad a boat to be sitting in when you get to choose between those two schools!

I'm not sure whats more stressful, the waiting to hear or having to make a decision. I had a hard enough time turning down Illinois. I think I can make up the costs more especially if I apply for the scholarships there, I just felt like Minnesota was a better fit, I'd love living in a new area, Davis just doesn't have the little town in a big city feel that I liked and the rushness of the interview and the feeling that it was a drill session really turned me off. I was really praying for a rejection so I didnt have to maybe regret the decision in the future but I dont think I could go wrong at either school. Im gonna be in the hospital the next week so I'll have lots of time to think it over but I hope it moves you up on the list!
 
Pups, that is Lame. With a capital L. I mean, you turned them down because you wanted life experience and they wouldn't let you defer. You came back a stronger applicant because of your experience, and did not get in... I can't help but think they have a chip on their shoulder.

Well, UCDavis's lost is UPenn's gain - you'll do great there. 🙂
 
I got in! My letter came at 3:10 pm. I am just jumping with joy now.....words can't describe!

Got my acceptance this afternoon at 3:10 pm. I called the admissions office and they said they sent out rejections first then waitlisted and then some of the acceptances. There was a problem with the server so they have more letters to send out soooo I think if you havnt received an email ur probably in yayyyyyy
 
I'm in. 🙂 I'm in Florida right now with my dad. I think he was just as excited to read the email as I was.

GeeQued, I'm in a similar position having to choose Colorado's Vet prep program (vet school deferred one year, but in-state tuition obtained $17K) vs. Minnesota (start vet school right away, but pay out-of-state tuition $42K). I think you have already decided in your post. MINNESOTA! Yes, I am giving you permission to go to Minnesota. It seems you need someone to ok this decision and I'm co-signing it.🙂 If you didn't get into Davis, you would have no choice but to pay out-of-state tuition at Minnesota, so there!

Question: If you went to Davis, would you regret not doing Minnesota's program that fits you better? The flip side: Would you regret not going to Davis, once you see that your Minnesota debt is $60K more?

Aw pups sorry to hear the bad news...I agree w/ twelve that you're def a much stronger candidate this year around. Well good luck at UPenn! Not too shabby 2nd option, if you ask me! 😉

HAha, just don't let anyone persuade you one way or the other! But to be honest, I don't think you'd regret either decision. I know there's a post about going in state vs out for tuition purposes, but I think experience is super important...I moved out east for undergrad (moved to cali for grad school) and I've loved living all over the country! Go with what you want to do!
 
I agree! GeeQued - money is important in many ways, but in the end, you have to live with your decision.

You can always pay off the extra debt, but you can't just go back and do vet school all over again. Go with your gut.

I haven't quite decided yet. 😳
There is a part of me that will always have a soft spot for Cornell, so my plan was to wait and see what happens with Cornell, even if I got a UC Davis acceptance... but realistically, I will probably think about it for a couple more days then withdraw from the list to give other people a chance.

I'm definately withdrawing acceptances at THE Ohio State U and Tufts, so hopefully that will also lead to some new postings in the acceptance thread!
 
Is the "Coat Size" link not working for anyone else on the Accept/Decline page?

And what computers are you guys getting? I've never used a Mac, but I've always been interested in getting one. I do like the idea of the tablet though...
