Thanks derf for your reply ! I don't know I should call them on Monday to schedule for an interview or I should wait till I receive my letter package. I want to have an interview asap ! I'm really scared now. I actually start studying again to take this April Mcat cuz all i heard was rejection 😱

Back to the topic of the thread. I am over 90% sure that this week final decision letters will be sent for the bulk of applicants who interviewed early jan and earlier. It will be almost a month since the last batch and the admissions receptionist has been promising late feb for a while with no later than early march.
also, i havent been able to log into my status page all weekend. did they set the server down in order to make a big update to people's status pages?
so start praying you ucla wannabes

tuesday is going to be the day, i can feel i this week. oh ok i said the same for the last three tuesdays, but this one is different.

i imagine if it comes, the letter will come saturday. what do people recommend for celebration/moping if tuesday is the day?

Anyone know how late UCLA sends interview invitations and how long it takes for them to review an application? I got mine in on 2-3-05. I was totally shocked when I got the invite in January, I had stopped checking my status during finals week assuming I was rejected. UCLA is currently my top choice so I'm really hoping for something to pan out.

Since you already went through the interviewing process, I just wanna ask that if you could call UCLA to schedule for an interview or you have to wait till the letter comes and return it to them. That 's what the lady at admission told me! Thanks in advance for answering!

i called and scheduled mine before my physical invite letter came, they were pretty nice about it as i recall.

The lady I talked to wouldn't let me schedule my interview over the phone either. (interviewed in Feb) I had to wait for the letter. Maybe it depends on who answers the phone or maybe they just don't let people do it anymore.

according to my friend who applied to UCLA last year, he said that UCLA is one of the schools that send out acceptance the latest ! Cheer !

Just a friendly note to say that my status page was updated (eeek!) and so you can try and check yours...(I interviewed in early January)...now it is this awkward 5-day limbo where I know my decision is traveling on some mail truck/airplane...not that I expect to necessarily get in, but its fun to pretend... 🙂

no reason to think this, no real way to tell what the letters today or next week are going to be. they are in fits and starts with the letters, i think the bulk of the decisions are gonna come soon. good luck all

And here I thought I was the pessimistic one! With my stats I am honestly not expecting an initial acceptance--and so dont jump to conclusions without substantiation! 🙂 I am sure it will work out...good luck!

the only thing I can tell so far from these fruitcakes in the UCLA adcom is that they have been willing to send out acceptances right when they make them (or thereabouts) but have held off giving post-interview rejections (even though I am sure they have made some) until I am assuming March 15. At least that was the pattern from the late Jan/ early Feb letters which were all acceptances.

His status changed to sent today, mine didn't. He has gotten into 15/16 schools he interviewd at while I've gotten into only some back ups. This is probably better left un-analyzed.....

hmmm... i do know that there is some AAMC rule (along with the only holding one acceptance by may 15) that says med schools have to have sent out enough acceptances to equal their incoming class size by march 15 (although i've seen this date debated and some ppl say that it is actually by march 30). so maybe that's what the lady in the office meant, if they have to send out at least 121ish acceptances by the middle (or end) of this month

when did your friend interview? the lady in the office actually told him by when he would have a decision? wondering if they will tell other people specifically when they should hear by.

anyway, don't lose hope... we've all seen some random and surprising things happen in this process, so you never know.
