anybody interview at UCSD last year/yet?? I looked at the interview feedback that was posted but they aren't super detailed (many thanks to UCSFpharmgirl8 for your interview tips!)...what was asked besides the basic "Why pharmacy" and "Why UCSD," and were there essay topics besides the Mt Rushmore and cartoon ones?

Two years ago when I interviewed, the essay prompt was what was my favorite novel.

I talked to the dean of admissions last year before the interviews and what not, and he pretty miuch said he uses the same, laid back essay prompt every year. What I recommend is use UCSFpharmgirl8's outline and outline your own response then just practice it. They may ask more about your background and your goals, etc. then general questions. I wouldn't stress the essay it is not that formal. They give you until the end of the interview period to complete it, so you can go anywhere near by on campus and complete it.

Good luck!

I think they came up with the essay title right on the spot - I had Mt. Rushmore. With regards to the questions asked, they were just very general: why pharmacy, why UCSD, where do you see yourself in 10 years, I had like a 10 minute discussion about playing tennis, but that was one of the essays so they tended to ask more detailed questions about somth you wrote in your essay, do you want to do community or hospital, why./why not.
Hope this ramble helps
