I know the application deadline for these 3 schools is November 1, but does anyone know if they wait to receive fall grades before the make decisions for interview invites? Thanks!

UCSF does not to the best of my knowledge, interview invite for me was sent out and arrive on December 24th, I received it on Xmas. By that point, I havent' even updated/input my fall grades yet at all.

I can only speak for UoP.

Interviews are conducted all the way through March so for the borderline applicants, they definitely do wait for fall grades. The academic dynamos, like Chebs, get the earliest interview invitations. That is to say, if the AdCom feels that they have enough information about your ability to make it through the academic portion of the schooling, then they extend the interview, sans grades.

I don't think UCSF's interview season ends in Dec either... but I am not an authority on that.

In other words, don't count on fall grades to get you an interview.

Hello! No fall grades (I applied to USC/UCSD/UCSF last cycle). The academic update is around Jan/Feb and they won't even see it until March so fall grades won't matter.

Since it's rolling, USC granted me an interview for nov, and accepted me in dec (before school ended) -- so def no fall grades there. Though I did submit my transcript after each term for USC

UCSD and UCSF are both due on Nov 1st. My interviews and acceptances were granted in Feb and mid March, so I'm sure they didn't get my academic update either.

Hope this helps!
