One other question about UCSF pre-reqs.

Do they have an expiration on their pre-requisite coursework or a recommended age of pre-requisites?

Two of the schools I'm applying to recommend all pre-reqs be done within the last six or seven years. How is UCSF on this?

Thanks again.

Is this 6-7 years a recommendation or an absolute requirement? I'm curious about this myself.

For UCSF, the website doesn't exactly make it 100% clear when the prereqs should have been completed. (As long as the ALL of the prereqs are done BY the time you join in September, you are good.)

However, I would think that the Dept would consider it a little worrisome if you had taken some of the core courses over 5-6 years ago... HOWEVER, there are plenty of us who have degrees on top of our B.S. degree, and it *has* been a while since we took O-chem and Physics.. (BTW, the Physics requirement is now the CALC-based physics, not regular physics- that is new as of this year.)

IE, they accepted a Calculus course and Economics course that I took at UCSD as part of my Math requirement. (I entered in 2004 and those courses were taken in the mid 90's) They accepted took my AP exam that I took woah, MANY years ago.

I think this warrants an email to the osaca- but just FYI, as long as there is no time limit mentioned on the UCSF website, I think it is OK to assume that it can be many moons ago and they will still accept it (as long as it is one of the courses listed as an 'equivalent' on the assist.org website.)
