hang in there, all of you HP WL peoples.. remember, ppl started getting accepted on May 20 last year. your time shall come. =) I just got off the waitlist at CCLCM two days ago (May 15), and it seems that the WL acceptance gears are in motion around the country.. GL!!

Last year acceptances were received by mail on 5/20...today might be the day for you bay area people. GL and let us know!

Is there usually ALOT of movement right around this time and then only small driblets throughout the rest of the summer? or is it more graded than that, since accepted ppl seem to get extensions on the may 15th thing, or get off waitlists themselves? Does anyone actually know?

I bet it depends on the year and how many people withdrew their acceptance this year.

I was meeting with the financial aid director the other day and he told me he was told to expect A LOT of movement around May 15. For whatever that is worth.... It doesn't look like anyone has received a letter yet. I am looking for a flood 🙂

Okay, I just sucked it up and called. She told me they're "starting to send them out this week." I couldn't bring myself to ask what day. Ha. It's a little more exciting this way...

well, that all sounds like pretty decent news....now just need to find something constructive to do for the next week or so (besides consume large amounts of sunflower seeds!! They are such a good nervous food....)

I myself take that as very good news. I had resigned to not hearing anything until at least June..... at least someone on here should have something to report by early next week! 👍
 
Arg, May 15th was a week ago! UCLA has already mailed acceptance letters to ppl from their WL, and they are notoriously slow. Maybe UCSF is busy preparing a large batch of big envelops? Ha, wishful thinking.
 
I called earlier and was told that they would start sending letters out today. Good luck to everyone.

Thanks, whynot. Maybe it's the fact that they never sound too happy to hear from me that inhibits me from asking any follow-up questions to the one I called to ask. 😉

So maybe tomorrow's the day for you guys in SF. Can't wait to see some movement!
 
*Sighs* I've been pining (how do U spell pine-ing anyway?) after this thread since the ill-fated, late-April day that I got my HP rejection.🙁 I promised myself I'd stop posting to keep from growing any more fond of my future non-classmates, but I just couldn't help it. 😳 Anyway, I thought I'd just drop by and wish those of you still in the run the best of luck. :luck: For now I'll just have to live vicariously thru U all.😀
 
Last night (Tues aftn for those in the states), my father calls me at the hostel I am staying in Istanbul. The Dean called on Tues to ask for my phone number. My father gave him my email address (since I am in Turkey), but so far I have not received an email from anyone at UCSF.

Although, I can only think this is good news, the wait to find out my status is killing me.

I hope this information helps people to keep informed of where UCSF is in the process. I will let you know when I hear from them.

I am absolutely ecstatic right now because I was just accepted to UCSF. Unbelievable. This is a dream come true for my family and me. I would like thank you all being a really supportive bunch, and I wish you guys the very best. For those wondering, I live near San Jose.

I'm in!!!! Just got my letter here in Southern CA (and called all of my family).... I think it is definitely too soon for the east coast - I wouldn't lose hope until Monday or Tuesday at least.

UCSF was my top choice from the very beginning, but I lost all hope after my interview day - my interviews there were definitely my worst interviews of the whole cycle. Never thought this day would come! :hardy:

Here's to hoping for the best for all of my fellow HP'ers out there!!! 🙂 :luck: 🙂

Congrats, nyc! So it seems like this was a sizable batch...we're 4/10 for SDNers in the top half. Let's hope it keeps going!
