UCSF Waitlist and Acceptance offer declined

I was bored and started looking at prior years' waitlist threads and decided to make one for this year. So this way us waitlisted people can see if there's any movement on the waitlist throughout the spring and summer. Also, for those who have been accepted and plan on declining your offer, if you could kindly post here that would be great! It'll give us some hope!!! 😀

Good idea, pigfarts! I don't wish anyone to decline since UCSF is such a prestigious school with wonderful opportunities, but if anyone finds a better situation.... it'd be good to know perhaps if we do have any hope! =)

What're you planning, for now, as we wait in limbo? I'm starting to plan for housing as if I will be attending USC. It's weird, trying to navigate about this uncertainty, but plenty have done so before us and I'm sure we'll be a-okay. Best of luck to ya!

As of now, I'm planning on going to UOP. I already sent in my housing application and stuff, but it's great that you got into USC! As of now, I'm AC listed there. HAHA. So double the limbo for me! USC and UCSF are my top two choices.

I don't want to say yes and be totally wrong, but from reading the 2009 thread it seems so. A lot of people posted on that thread that they were declining their offer, but the waitlist didn't seem to move the same amount .... SO.. Maybe they do overshoot it? I'm not sure, so don't take my word for it.

When do you think we'll find our rankings? Mid-may... June status?? Because that's so far away!!! What are your options now peeps?

Yeah. That's what it seemed like. I read that forum too. At the same time, I kinda don't want to know the answer to my own question. Haha. I'd rather believe that they don't over shoot.

I'm thinking mid-may. But last year they didn't know till June. My options now are USC and UCSD. The past few days have been hell trying to decide only because I've been in San Diego forever. But UCSD is cheaper, smaller class size, pass/fail, new facilities, lots of research etc. But then I hear networking is really good at USC so I don't know if it's worth the extra 40k to go to USC for the networking and new city.

I already filled out UCSF's fin aid app, but I did it way back when we were still waiting for our responses. I haven't done the CSS profile thingy though.

it seems like we have been waiting forever to get our waitlist number!! if i don't get into ucsf, ill be going to UW my home school.

Was wait listed number 3, just got an offer of admission through email yesterday. Seems like already people are not accepting offer to UCSF. Don't loose hope people!

USC and UOP! I'm very relieved to not have to go through the application process and the waiting and the wishing again next year... =) though the wishing can continue for this waiting list period haha. Thanks for the good wishes! Best of luck to you too! Do great things at SF!

Thanks tim!!! USC and UOP are great! I got AC at USC👎 and accepted to UOP👍 but UCSF is so much cooler then UOP! LOL! Best of luck and keep your fingers crossed!

Don't be too worried!!

i have terrible luck! ucsf told me i was #17 via email cause im out of the country right now. then i received my waitlist letter at home and had it scanned to me...#28. ucsf apologized and said their assistant made an error and gave me the alphabet list number.

I can't even reason out my chances being at 28. They said they have accepted over 40 before...but I feel that is unlikely to happen again. I'm currently making living plans and and finding internships to go to UW.

If I get an extremely late acceptance to UCSF, i might take it, but it would be really complicated finding last minute living and settling in so late. My bf is moving back to his hometown to work at genentech so i was really hoping to get into ucsf. I was pretty surprised to get an interview invite, and even though i rocked the interview i can see why I was waitlisted. i don't have a bachelors, my grades are okay not an A student, and I'm 21. i think they mostly liked my perspectives, my various pharm experiences, and passion for the field.

For now, it seems i have everything career-wise set in washington. Im setting up a living arrangement with 7 other p1 students at UW so im super excited for this current path.

Hello... just wondering whether you've heard from UCSF regards to acceptance... I was wait list#30something and ended up removing myself from the waitlist (happened by an accident.. blah..😎😳) but I'm just curious whether how many people from the waitlist got accepted.. do you anything about this?
