Crashes himself into the mirror, dies. If he doesn't immediately, he takes a shard and sticks it in his heart.

He's escaped, not only the room, but the physical world.

Or...

Crashes into the mirror, only to find out it's double-sided, and the room he's in now has a door. Escapes through the door.
