i got ap credit for a year of intro bio and was wondering what bio courses to take.
i was thinking definetely biochem and either human physiology or genetics or both and take one less humanities class.
what would be the most helpful for the mcat
btw, i will be an elec eng major.

hmmmm....can you audit the intro bio courses, just for the sake of sitting in on them? they will be extremely useful for the MCAT because the intro courses will cover so much relevant material, while advanced courses will delve into only one specific topic on a way deeper level than you'll need to know the material for the MCAT. at the very least, take kaplan or PR so that you are exposed to a broad scope of introductory biology.

that said, in addition to biochem i might recommend cell bio and a physiology course. i also remember having a neurobio passage when i took the MCAT.

thanks for the advice.
i actually have one more question.
i have room in my schedule for 3 bio classes and physiology is definetley one of them. i actually want to take both biochem and mol bio but at my school they're both only offered in the fall and i only have room for one fall bio class. which should i take?(biochem or mol bio-which sounds more interesting).
my third bio class will probably be cell bio instead of genetics.

thanks for the help

I would agree. Cell bio is a must before biochem.
And I would be lost on the MCAT if I had not taken Physiology. I learned so many new things in that class.

Genetics isn't all that helpful. I took it and maybe had two genetics questions on the MCAT.

I took Bacteriology which was a help because we did DNA/RNA review stuff with some added info, redox, and also expanded on my cell bio stuff.

Any way definitely cell bio and physiology are must takes.
