Hey all,
I was recently accepted into UIC's MPH program for Community Health. I was wondering if anyone here has completed the program in one year, or knows of anyone who has? I wouldn't mind taking classes over the summer, I just want to finish the program by Fall 2013. From what I saw in the handbook the program requires 42 credit hours to graduate, so it seems like it could be possible.

Thanks in advance! 🙂

You might want to look at past class schedules. Many schools don't offer classes in the summer.

Actually, since you want to do it in 3 semesters plus summer I think it might be pretty easy, depending on scheduling.

Hi,
I don't think it is possible. You need to do your internship during the summer and you would have to take at least 7 classes a semester which will be extremely difficult, if not impossible, unless you have an amazing stats/epidemiology background and you can waive the classes. Even then, you don't get credit for those courses. You need to take other classes. You could try to do 3 semester and a summer. You would pretty much have to do your internship in Chicago and then take a graduate level elective during the summer to pull that off. If you are super motivated, catch on to things quickly and have a strong background in public health (like you have a BS in Public Health or something), I'm sure it is doable in 3 semesters and a summer. Talk to an advisor though. Maybe they have some ideas and it could be I just don't the people who are doing it that way. It is a big program. Also, it would cost the same since it is by credit hour and not semester.
Good luck,
Jaya
