For those of you dental students at schools where they do not accept many out of staters (or even 0)....if you are in the top 5 on an alternate list on an in state list as of right now and all the seats are full (the school that has you waitlisted only sends out the exact amount of seats available...in the past they extended too many acceptances and couldnt take many from the waitlist) how quickly or slowly do you think my status could change? I realize that lots of movement occurs right before school starts especially on out of state waitlists or private school waitlists...but I am hoping it starts moving within the next month or so (April/May)....according to the admission director. Why is April/May a time where a lot of movement occurs? I am #4 on the list at UIC. Some positive news is on 3/23 (1 day after finding out I was waitlisted) two people decided they didnt want to go and I moved from #6 to #4. I do not think this trend will continue and am hoping to move 1-2 spots by the end of April (to me thats fairly optimistic). Any thoughts?
