i got u/rockford...hey pmsm, i know a kid in urbana and he said tuition is only 25 thousand..im really confused..do you mind showing me your calculations/website where it shows the higher price?? thankss

I'm confused... I thought you could only do M1 at chicago or urbana. And then if you go to Urbana then you can do 2, 3, and 4 at rockford or peoria. So how is it that people are saying that they've been assigned to rockford?

Don't be confused - You are correct. Those that do years 2-4 at Peoria and Rockford have their first year in Urbana. I got a letter with my assignments last week so you know you're assigned to Urbana for year 1 and, in my case, Rockford for years 2-4.

I hope that helps!

Now to get my transcripts and immunization forms in....

I'm starting to think about housing... Does anyone know if the UIChicago students get a UPASS?

Undergrads do, and while I am pretty sure that med students do, I am not positive. Also, in regard to my earlier question on why my student account said Chicago campus, I called and they tolds me I, indeed, was peoria. I checked again today and they have corrected the adminustrative mistake; It now says Urbana.

Hey SDNers,

I interviewed on 3/12 at the Chicago site. The committee should meet this th; I will post any changes to my status here.
If there are others 3/12 interviewees around SDN, please do the same.

For those of you already accepted: Well done and Congrats!!!
For the rest: Good luck!

Hi all!

I interviewed today (3/18) in Peoria and was told that the next adcom meeting would be next Thursday, March 27th. Good luck to everyone!

Hi, I thought the adcom meeting was on March 20th. It's exactly a month from their last adcom meeting. Did they move it to the 27th for everyone?

They wouldnt disclose the exact date (during the Chicago interview), but i was under the impression that they meet on the 3rd th of every month.

I think the adcom does usually meet on the third Thursday of the month. However, this Thursday is Match Day, so that might be why they postponed it by a week.

plus, its good friday and easter monday this week so some people might be taking their vacations days around this time.

I was also told during my interview that the committee meets the 3rd thursday of the month but I guess in the end it doesnt matter so long as we get some good news 🙂

By the way, how come other schools' threads that have gone on forever have gotten star ratings, but this awesome thread we've maintained has not? Zip?🙂

People need to click "Rate this thread"! 🙂 I did, and it's showing 5 stars now. 😉

My status changed today from "Interview scheduled for 3/12 - Evaluation not complete" to "Decision pending".

hahaha awesome.

just remember who started this incredible thread! i'm so proud! 😀

To those still waiting to hear back post interview, I called in today and asked when the committee was meeting to make their decision. I was told that they would not be meeting this week and that it would in fact be next thursday. Good luck!

Does anyone know when we should expect financial aid packages from UIC? As an OOSer, I am very curious about that $290K bill I'll have to manage.

Got mine today! Submitted FAFSA at the end of Feb.

Are you getting ANY type of aid other than loans? Also are you OOS? I have an interview coming up at UIC, but am scared ****less of looking at the bill if I was to somehow get in. 😳

Edit: nevermind, just noticed you are instate. my mistake.

Finally, this is the week! I interviewed on Feb. 20th and the committee is finally meeting to discuss our files! I wonder if my file is on the top of the pile or the bottom? It'd probably be better to be on top so that they don't run out of spots.. When I interviewed at the Rockford campus, I heard that their acceptance ratio is higher than any other campus' acceptance ratios. Can anyone confirm this?

I just withdrew today. Hopefully one of you guys gets the spot I let go! Good luck!👍

I've been stalking this thread for the last few weeks now, so I figured I'd finally register and make myself known. Had my interview going on two weeks ago, so I think I'll be in this Thursday's review. I'm terrified as hell! I was surprised I got an interview because I'm OOS and I had a pretty awful GPA (even though I had a higher MCAT... 11/11/11)

Good luck.. hopefully we'll hear some good news soon! 🙂

I'm really sorry to see hopkins didn't have the good sense to send you an acceptance.

And good luck with your Rush/SLU decision! For what it's worth, the students I spoke to who go to Rush really like their school. A LOT. 👍

This is the week! I am getting really excited/nervous and of course anxious for the all important status change. Good luck to everyone who is being reviewed in this Thursday's adcom meeting :luck:

Does anyone know what happens after you fulfill your pre-enrollment requirements? Do we get anything else like a schedule or something?

Somehow, I wasn't hep b vaccinated so I'm in the process of getting that done...it's the only thing that's holding me up in completing my pre-enroll reqs.

Anyone applying to live in grad housing this fall who isn't from UIC? If so, what is going on with the housing application? It requires you to log in using a UIN (a 9-digit University ID Number) that was supposedly sent in with our acceptance letters, yet it clearly wasn't. This number is needed to activate our UIC net ID and without the UIN, nothing can be done online. About everyone I've called at UIC has given me the runaround on an answer, so has anyone else had this problem? Thanks!

Chicago campus. Many thanks DieselDoctor, you were more helpful than just about everyone I called at UIC!

according to a couple of M1's at the Chicago campus, no one they knew of was granted a campus change to Chicago last year. i imagine there were very few who were switched, but i believe the circumstances must have been very severe. im likely gonna pull out, i just cant risk being in rockford.

Could anyone please put up a link for the applicant status check website?? I am having a hard time finding it again..

Good luck to everyone waiting to hear from yesterday's adcom meeting :luck: Hopefully we get some status changes today!!!!

Thanks a lot lilchic!!! Looks like my status hasn't changed... when does the website usually indicate "a decision has been made on ..." status change (if there is good news on the horizon)?

It's been totally variable. Either way, I wouldn't worry until somebody on the board posts that they got a status change.

Looks like last month the committee met on Thursday Feb 21st and applicants received a status change on Tuesday Feb 26th. :luck:

Good luck yall...I'm pretty sure I'll be withdrawing soon (didn't like my site assignment), so once they start pulling names off of the waitlist there'll be another spot open for ya...

I was a 1/18 afternoon interviewee at the Chicago Campus...was anyone else?

I was. We chatted after my first interview and before your first at that table in the eating area. I didn't end up getting an acceptance but have another option going so it's all good.

nope, still shows "decision pending"... can anyone confirm this?
