Several MD/PHD acceptances already
At least one rejection, if not more?


At this point, that is 8 acceptances to 25 interviews, or a 32% acceptance rate for interviewees. We know of at least 1 withdrawal after acceptance. According to others at my interview day, the acceptance chance rate for interviewees varies from 30-50%, give or take a few thick envelopes. So there could be more acceptances (even if off wait list):luck: ...

reggit- Why on earth would you go to interviews at NYMC and Drexel 4 months after a Umass acceptance? Congrats either way.
 
i think most of what i have to say to can be summed up in 3 words as said by a co-worker of mine - "follow the flesh" 😀 i have a significant other that is applying to law schools during this same cycle. umass is my top choice, but i still have to wait and see where the wifey will end up with her school acceptances (none in the boston/MA/new england area as of yet).
 
Hey all, year-long lurker here but I just received an acceptance from UMass via email (regular MD)! Very excited! I'll add my info to the list - I interviewed in September so it's been a long wait, but don't lose hope, they don't seem to be finished yet!

also, I have a first-year friend there (got in off the waitlist 5/17 last year) whom I've been talking with and he sent me this yesterday:

"they have a first year weekend this weekend, and like a 100 potential students are coming in...but i can almost promise a bunch are gonna drop out....so they might be waiting on those....its a process i don't know much about and got really lucky to be honest....so thats what i know."

Just thinking the same thing... kinda ridiculous.

Why do you think that it will only be waitlists from here on out? I assume if they sent an acceptence today, there could be more. I highly doubt it will be to me, haha :laugh:, but I am sure there are still some people with great stats that stand a chance to get in without the WL first.
 
I hope i am wrong ... but if a person like tporter with a 38 and 3.9 GPA had to wait since sept I am just wondering where it puts us (i.e the regular people 🙂)

I actually just got forwarded an email about the second look - I'm pretty sure I'll be going on saturday (there are things tomorrow as well, but I'm working and it's optional). I'll definitely report back on the vibe and where people are at in terms of their decisions.

I couldn't help but do a little number crunching from last year's thread instead of working!

Appears there is about a 50% acceptance rate off the waitlist; so if 40% of the class comes from the waitlist than 80 of us should be getting waitlist letters very soon.

Sorry if you already figured this out ages ago! Does anyone know 2005 and 2006's thread - It might be therapeutics to analyze those as well.

I wrote to the school asking for my status and they said a decision has not been made on my application.I should expect on or before May15th. If they have not made decisions regarding applications then they must still be giving out acceptances. I interviewed March 26th

The e-mail starts by saying they are impressed with accomplishments etc, but unfortunately all the spots have been filled. They are pleased to offer me a spot on the waitlist, however, which can result in an accepance anytime between now and August.

Last year, they sent waitlist letters in more than 2 batches, if I remember correctly from the thread.

anyone who interviewed on 3/26 receive any kind of decision yet? if they're reviewing apps in chronological order and they decided on jka recently, who interviewed on 3/19, then the 3/26 batch should be soon...so just wanted to see if anyone else who interviewed on 3/26 got a decision yet

Don't lose hope! Traditionally it seems waitlist come in at least two batches. rejections don't come until early/mid may.

By the way, admissions confirmed the class is indeed full, but that "they take quite a few off the waitlist".
 
I also interviewed on 3/26 and no wait list or anything...
well thats def sucks...

My close friend interviewed in early March and was just waitlisted today (in the afternoon). 🙁
 
OK i don't want to see any " 🙁 " in reference to waitlists. I would give anything to be waitlisted there!!! haha
