Would any past or current resident care to share information on this program (or direct me to a thread where it has been discussed)?
likes, dislikes, hours, teaching, job/fellowship opportunity afterwards, happiness, ect.

It would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Camden is one of the top 3 locations to live in America (I think it ranks just behind San Diego and Santa Barbara). Incredibly low crime, great schools, friendly neighbors, beautiful city all way around.

Are you kidding?

For the sake of some lawyer bringing up a ridiculous law suit that I lead some unsuspecting medical student to the cultural hotbed known as Camden, NJ, yes I am kidding. 🙂

I grew up in a jaded affluent suburb of Philadelphia (in S. Jersey). When we [played football against Camden HS or Woodrow Wilson HS, we had a police escort in and out of town.

Camden was once a beautiful city to live in, but then WWII happened. Camden routinely vies for murder capitol of NJ. Taking Admiral Wilson BLVD through Camden would reveal liquor stores, hobos, and prostitutes. It is a disconcerting drive to get to Phila.

Even if the program were stellar, you'd need to live in Haddonfield/Haddon Heights and take the high speed line so you would not need to worry about getting your car stolen.

Sounds like you grew up in Cherry Hill.

How about New Brunswick on a serious note???

Busy program. You will get exposure to just about every case possible except liver and lung transplant.

All types of B&B cases, regional, cardiac, minimally invasive cardiac, soon perc. aortic valves, pancrease&kidney transplant, GI, intervential GI, cath lab.

Anything else you want to know?

What I or anybody states about UMDNJ camden has no bearing on Newark or New Brunswick-boths of which at least to me on the interview trail seemed like solid program.

The New Brunswick site is very solid. A candidate will not go wrong going there, and will leave with a good experience for his or her career. The site also offers Pain and Cardiac fellowships.

I loved the RWJ program on interview day- especially the PD. I hated Newark, and the residents seemed negative/not enthusiastic. However, Newark did seem to have more/possibly better trauma, can you comment on any differences between the two? Also, I can't remember if there are CRNAs at RWJ?

Few CRNAs; mostly residents.
You will see plenty of trauma at New Brunswick.
