Hello UMDNJ-ers 🙂

I had a really great time this past friday for accepted students day. We all looked really great in our bright red t-shirts! It was also nice to put faces next to names.

Gotgame, Jaynine, Nate, brodiaga, Matt and others (whose names i cant remember at the moment)....very cool meeting you 🙂

Alex....i was glad to hear you found your car!

Those who didnt come to the party....you stink!! there was only a few of us from class of 2010 who made it there. But nevertheless it was a good time! I am assuming that there will be many more parties to come! Also...i know some of the other schools are hosting events before june starts. I know we are all kind of scattered but maybe we should try to have some kind of event for ourselves in april/may....maybe in jersey or philly or something like that. Just an idea 🙂

The party was excellent, I was the last of the incoming students that were left. And I concur with Polina, wish more of you could have made it out. It was a great time to socialize🙂.

And we should definitely get together and go to philly or something. Maybe when one of us gets an empty apartment, we can all sleep over in sleeping bags!

Nice meeting everyone! The day was great. I got lost on rt 42 but thanks to our local friend matt(mwlucky) I was able not wind up in downtown camden and find my way to the party. Alex, for the next 4 years im never gonna let you live down the fact you were looking for your car on the wrong side of the street. But im glad you found it lol. Polina--- brooklyn represent!! lol. Polina is all about brooklyn, well ok she wasnt born there but u cant get much more brooklyn then she is. Sorry guys.. the only SDNer I saw was polina early on.. I was trying too hard to stay awake during the day to look at all the nametags haha.. Went into philly early since we got out at like 230pm, so I just stayed there, but once the class is closer to being full of people definitely attending we should totally get together again! A lot of kids I met were on the fence. I was really hoping to find a roomate on friday! anybody figure out where they want to live? alrighty, talk to you guys soon 🙂

I hang out in a high school.... do some work here and there...check my email 100 times a day for lack of better things to do or lack of desire to work lol...I tried getting aim on here but board of ed blocks it....I am still working on getting the google version of aim on this lovely computer. I have an interesting job i suppose lol

Hey Jaynine.....i would def. check it out...they said that its rare that they have apartments available because its mostly people who live there for long periods of time. They havent really had any students live there, which i guess is why they dont really have much apartment turnover. Check it out and lemme know if you get a place there. We can start a new student housing complex 🙂

yeah if you can get the comcast cable you'll be able to get their internet. i'm thinking the openings may be a result of the recent fire over there but I haven't heard much about that (http://abclocal.go.com/wpvi/story?section=local&id=4002795) and you guys probably already know about that anyway.

I put my deposit down on Kingsrow to hold my spot but if anyone thinks that another apartment complex is better please share. Any thoughts on The landings at Pine lake or stonington. I have a few friends that got into the graduate program and they are looking for places.

So kingsrow had some apartments that came with washer/dryer but if not they have a brand new laundry room with like 10 washers and dryers that were very new and right in the middle of the property. You can ask for an apt. that has a w/d if its important to have it right in your room. From what I saw, the laundry room had w/d that were nicer than the one in the apartment. Also, they might have hookups for it....not sure but Laurie, the girl who works there is really sweet and you can just call her and ask her.

The landings does have w/d or hookups in every unit but you pay extra for it. Landings seemed nice but i didnt like that it had like 500 (or something like that) apartments and its kind of closed in so i dont know if i would feel as safe there. I liked the apartment layouts where its townhouses cause then most people just park in front of their houses and u walk right into your apartment, but thats just my personal preference. Pricewise, landings and kingsrow made the most sense because they were about 800/month and included all utilities except electric.

Also, what have you found out about the Pre-matric program? And do you think its useful? I havent heard much about it except Mr.gotgame83 who is telling me that I am not doing the program 🙂

Im in my schools library right now, and yup im on SDN. NO PRE-MATRIC FOR U MISSY!! Oh cmon we are gonna be studying our arses off for years to come, enjoy ur summer.


I felt kingsrow was very nice and the mangement is what really sold me. If I didnt think it was a good place to live or I didnt plan on living there they wouldnt have gotten my 100bucks. If you are interested in Kingsrow call up Laurie and tell her. After to view the apartments they can put you on a waitling list becuase right now they dont have any available. Polina and I grabbed up those quickly! I am going back over to that area in a few to show my friends who are in the grad program some of the apartments. I will post more apartment reviews later. Oh and Polina....shouldnt you be hard at work being a role model for your lil ghetto students... get off SDN!

I must have missed most of you at the Accepted Students day because I don't recall meeting you all (except DSTMD2B) but I am anxious to meet you all in the next few months!I 'm also supposed to be doing the pre-matric program. Well all the apartments were gone at Kingsrow, they even sold the model apartment! So I couldn't even see that. Laurie said she absolutely loved you guys, Polina and Mike. I know Polina you didn't like stonington court, but I kinda liked it....and if I can't see Kingsrow or an apartment doesn't open up I will probably be there...hey I am right around the corner from you guys. I tried to see Brookeview manor but it was closed...apparently appt. only on sat...even though that is not what it said on the internet.

Tried to go to Landings at Pine Lake, but the area was so run-down that I turned around!

Oh well, one more new jersey trip this friday to see Brookeview!

p.s. did anyone eat at the pizzeria behind Longhorn as you are driving up towards Voorhees on Laurel Rd. If not, stop in...you won't regret it 😳

Nothing counts so you are in class/studying but there's no pressure because it doesn't count. I also heard that it gives you a good heads up because the professors are the same ones that will teach you in the fall and the exams are very similar to what you will take. Hey Jaynine. If rents go up in may I dont think that affects us, because I got a paper from her saying i was approved and what my monthly rent will be once i sign the lease. Also if rents go up by 5/10 bucks i wont really mind. But I am not sure about that so i dunno. I went to see like almost 12-15 apartment complexes b/w those two days i was there and this was the best one for many reasons. It was about 750 sq. ft. which is very roomy from what i saw. The bedroom and living room were perfect sizes and the walk in closet in the bedroom was great. I liked that you open the door right into your apartment as opposed to having shared entrances or having to walk outdoor stairs ( I just like knowing i can park and walk right in) Also, aside from nice mgmt. there were many families which i liked, and the community just seemed nice. There is a small dining room area for a nice sized table right off the kitchen and the kitchen had lots of cabinet space and a nice sized pantry. The best part is that all utilities are included except electric/AC. Also the heat and air is central so that makes life easy. There is a pool there that looked good and i liked that the community seemed to be kept up nicely. I didnt really find anything wrong with the apartments.

I thought i had it rough with high school kids but preschool sounds even more fun. I am not exactly a teacher but dealing with them is stress enough that i look forward to ridding myself of! Dr. Pecora just had an article in "The D.O." that talks about PBL here at SOM, he started the program and had a lot to do with the curriculum change I believe. ENJOY YOUR SPRING AND SUMMER GUYS! when your prematric begins, us second years will begin our third year!!!

Timber ridge is a nice place and a lot of students live there. There's a lot of room for 2 people given the up and downstairs. I liked that laundry facilities are inside the apartment as opposed to echelon glen where it's in a seperate room next to each apt. I considered it my second choice, but from previous posts, you know my bias. Also, online reviews I had looked at for my apt complex didnt at all match the experience I've had here in the last 8 months, so be careful with those.

Well I ended up not getting the condo, but I still wanna get a 2 or 3 bedroom and haven't figured out a roomate yet. Anybody know about roomate listings or anything? I've been swamped at work, so I haven't had time to really think about it... I think I liked echelon glen the best so far though, even though all i hear about is kingsrow on this thing... anybody able to compare them? anyways... hopefully i will find a way to figure out who i'm living with, ahhh.. haha
