Anyone attending UMDNJ and what do you think about the school? I'm applying to UMDNJ and PCOM (looks like PCOM is very well represented on the boards) next summer and would appreciate any info.

Thanks!

i can give you a general rundown of the school.
great school by the way. umdnj that is , and pcom for that matter too.

some strenghts of umdnj:

1. consistently in the top two in NIH research funding for all osteopathic schools
2. largest core osteopathic hospital system (kennedy memorial hospital university medical center, which is ranked in the topp 100 by hcia sachs)
3. top quartile in board score performance
4. largest osteopathic residency program in the country (222 interns, residents, and fellows)
5. largest number of minorities among do schools
6. large % of women (for this class i believe it is 60% women)
7. offers the only do/jd program in the country
some other perks

a large expansion is going on
- by next year umdnj will have a state of the art new standaridzed pt lab that will be a national bard testing center for the new complex pe.

- small class size around 85

any other questions, please feel free to ask.

Thanks for the info. I was actually encouraged by the admissions committee to apply there a few years ago after I took the MCAT ( I never applied). I'm currently applying for jobs there now (and other states as weel) and would love to already live in the state a year before attending (if a get a job and I'm accepted). Again, thanks for responding!

you're most welcome.

i guess i should add that umdnjsom has a nationally renown Center for Aging that is ranked in the top 20 by US NEws and World report.

they have an outstanding geriatric program.
good luck with your application:clap:
