Has anyone gotten interviews at UNC, ECU, or Duke yet? If so what is the interview dates and if you don't mind it would be helpful if you left your stats!

I have a 3.99 gpa, a 1220 on the GRE, 300 shadowing hours, all the prereqs completed, and my applications were submitted over 2 months ago. I haven't gotten anything back from any of these schools except confirmation that they received my application. I'm beginning to get VERY worried!

Thanks guys!

I haven't heard anything but confirmation emails from ECU and UNC. I wouldn't worry though. I remember people last year interviewing in January for UNC's program and I haven't heard of anyone else getting word on interviews yet from ECU and UNC.

No word from ECU or Duke for me, except confirmation. My most recent email from ECU said that I would hear more information within two weeks and it has been 2 and a half... Trying not to get to worried and giving them some more time. Also, on the application for ECU it listed 2 interview dates, Dec 7 and Jan 16 I think were the dates. I know Dec 7 was listed and a Monday in early January!! Hope this helps!!

Hey, I didn't apply to any of those schools, but when I applied to Emory I had gotten a confirmation email saying i would hear from them soon and their website said 3-4 weeks. It took that 5.5 weeks for them to get back to me (it was today that I found out) that I would be invited to an interview. So I think it could be that a lot of schools are getting an influx of applications and are really busy getting through them. They prob in the past had be able to get back pretty quickly about interviews, but this year could be different if they get many more apps than they expected. I would probably just be patient and wait for the email from those schools. Hope this helps

I'm interviewing at Duke on Friday the 11th. Who else will be there?

With ECU, did you all just get a confirmation from the grad school? I never got a confirmation from the DPT program that they received that separate application.

I got an email from the DPT program [from someone named Leslie] saying they got my application, and one from the graduate school. I sent in my DPT app through email though so maybe thats why? It took her awhile to send it to me too

I called ECU to confirm that they received my application. I never got an email. They are really hard to get in contact with!

ECU is starting to send out invitations for interviews.

Jblil did you get an invite? Was it email, hard cody, phone call? How did you hear? Thanks for the update!!! Best of luck everyone!!!

For those of you accepted when did you submit your applications?

I sent my app to ECU in mid-Sept, but it was missing one (key) piece, the LOR from a faculty member. My professor finally sent it to ECU on 10/30, and I received the interview invitation yesterday 11/9.

Congrats! What was your GPA and GRE? Just trying to figure out if I have a chance! 🙂

Undergrad GPA 3.7 (Engineering), pre-req GPA 3.65, GRE 1390.

BTW, has anyone heard from UNC? During the info session, they mentioned that their first interviews start in mid-Jan, but I wonder if anyone got any news from them.

I am waiting to hear from UNC too. They said if we are invited for an interview we will be notified by Christmas. From past post it seems that people get their rejection letter by the middle of January if they don't get an interview.

I had my interview at ECU on 12/7. For the interview, you see a faculty member, then a student, then a panel of two faculty members + a student. Everyone was friendly and put me at ease.

As I left, I was told that we would be notified of the admission decision "in a few days."

The facilities at ECU are very nice. The PT School, along with other Health Sciences (Nursing, MD, PA, OT, etc) is on a separate campus than the main campus.

@jblil
Are you still a undergrad student?
If so, I had a question. When do we submit the final transcript? Because my school (UNCC) last day of this semester is December 16 and Deadline for ECU is December 15th.
Could you tell me what should I do?

Thanks!

@jblil
Are you still a undergrad student?

Alas, no. I got my undergrad degree a loooong time ago.

Go ahead and submit your transcript to ECU now, you don't want to miss the deadline. If I remember correctly, there is a section in the ECU DPT application where you list classes you have not completed yet. Just send ECU an updated transcript later, after your grades are posted.

@ jblil O yes I have submitted my college transcript, but I am talking about the final transcript. Does the final transcript need to be submitted before december 15th too? I have included in the DPT app that I am currently taking two prereq courses.

No - obviously, you can't submit something you don't have...🙂

As long as the school knows that you're taking the classes and you'll send the transcript when it's available (by Christmas?), you'd be fine.

I got an acceptance email from ECU. Still waiting for a decision from Duke.

@jblil
Congrats!!!!
I have a question, which biology course did you take to fullfill prereq for ECU?

I have a question, which biology course did you take to fullfill prereq for ECU?

I took BIO 111 at a CC (Durham Tech). If you're in the RTP area, Durham Tech and Wake Tech offer identical classes, and 99% of them transfer to ECU, UNC and Duke. FYI, Duke's DPT also requires Microbiology, which is BIO 275 at Durham Tech and Wake Tech.
You could take BIOL 101 at UNC, but it'd be a lot more expensive - I think it was 3x the cost of taking it at a CC.

@ jblil
I took Biology 2120 that is general biology would it be equivalent to the ECU bio prereq?

Probably - but to be on the safe side, call ECU and ask. A friend of mine just saw his app to PA school fall through because he assumed a class he took at a CC would transfer, while it did not.
Have a copy of the class syllabus handy, in case you need to send it to ECU for evaluation.

@jblil
What a difference between Principle of Biology and General Biology?
I am a Biology major so I have to take all general bio classes as well as higher level bio classes. I was just thinking what if they do not count general bio as a prereq.

Call ECU and ask! Don't "think that...", and don't rely on anybody else's guess (including mine).

Those admitted to ECU, have you received the formal acceptance letter in the mail? I've been looking for it, but it hasn't arrived yet.

Good point, I haven't received it either. Please let us know when you do; I'll do the same.

For those who have been accepted at ECU, did you receive an interview invitation via mail or email?

The email you got from ECU is the acceptance. You have to reply to that email first and then they will have the graduate school send the formal acceptance.

so which acceptance do you have to accept by Jan 6? The email or the formal acceptance and do you know what the deposit is?

It's the email we have to reply to, by Jan 6. The email I got says ".Please confirm your acceptance to the ECU DPT Class of 2015 by responding to this email no later than Friday, January 6, 2012."

I'd also like to know how much the deposit is.

I looked for the tuition cost at ECU. From the school's website, in-state graduate students pay $5,526/yr, but I wonder if DPT students would have to pay more. Even at 2x that cost, it'd still be an incredible bargain.
.

No, I think that's the correct tuition figure. I think I found it repeated in last year's student handbook. But I may need to ask about the deposit/ the process for accepting? If anyone knows more details/ contacts ECU let me know.

I also got early acceptance to ECU, waiting to hear from UNC about an interview. The deposit for ECU is $100. So I went ahead and accepted by responding to the email, now I am just waiting for more information from the graduate admissions. Please post when anyone hears from UNC!!

ktdpt2015, thanks so much for posting! I'm waiting to hear about a UNC interview as well but a $100 deposit is much better than the $1000 one Elon asked for. Best of luck with UNC!

@jblil
I will be graduating in spring 2012 and I was taking the remaining 2 prerequisites (Abnormal Psychology and Physics II lab) in fall 2011. I now have the grades for both of those prereqs, should I send that transcript to ECU? Note: I have all ready sent one earlier that proves I am taking those prereqs in fall 2011.
Could you suggest me what should I do? Send the transcript now or when they ask for it?

You seem to be mistaking me for ECU's Adcom. I have no idea how they work, and what would satisfy them. Again, please call up ECU and ask, this is your future (well, at least for the next 3-4 years). You don't want to rely on a stranger's guess when it comes to something as important as that.

Just received my interview invitation for UNC for Jan 21st via email!! Anyone else get the good news?

I received an invitation for UNC too......they only send 60 invites and offer seats to 30 students. So we are among the luck few. Good luck everyone!

Congrats on the UNC interviews. Has anyone recently heard from Duke? are they still inviting people for interviews?

I'm pretty sure Duke has notified all the folks who interviewed on 12/5. I got the call on 12/21. Duke has another interview session on Jan 9, so I am sure there are still open spots for the class of 2015.

Hey, I was at the 12/5 interview too and got the thumbs up the same day as you, but another girl that was there hasn't heard anything...weird. Has anyone heard if others from our interview date weren't notified yet?

I was reading somewhere that folks who are accepted and folks who are rejected, get notified quickly. The "may be"/waitlist folks have longer to wait.
