In addition, I think we are addicted to SDN, rcatunc. Every single time I get online, this site is my first favorite to visit.
I am addicted too! I go to about four websites when I get on before I actually do anything productive.
I agree that interviewers realize people are nervous and aren't at their best. I've been to two interviews so far. Both times I've walked out thinking I shouldn't have answered a question that way or that I really didn't answer their question at all. I got in to both!
Congrats! which schools did you get accepted to? I am only for UNC, no other school, so I am more desperate, I think, lol.I am addicted too! I go to about four websites when I get on before I actually do anything productive.

Thanks for all of the congratulations everyone!! I called to schedule today, but I believe the admissions office had already left. I am hoping to get an answer back in the morning (Thursday). Also, I am an instate student. Good luck to all of those waiting for answers!!!
I heard that the new interviews will be held on March 10th which is UNC's spring break week. I know some people had to modify their plans but I know I would cancel anything for an interview with UNC. Does anyone know why these later interviews are opening up? Are people from previous interviews turning down the offers which in turn opens up more spots? I was curious because I remember a while ago someone saying that "all decisions will be made by March 1st"......

Thanx! I got accepted to Buffalo and the University of Arizona. It does take the pressure off, but I definitely still hold UNC as one of my top choices. I wanted to go there for undergrad, but just didn't think it was worth taking out all the loans. I figure I'm taking out big loans for grad school anyways, so why not go for my dream! Good luck on getting accepted!

When I called to set up my interview, they said the last possible interview date was March 6. Of course they could have changed their minds...lol.
Students that interviewed in December were told that a decision about their admission would be made by March 1st (which is longer than the 4-6 wks we were told at the interview). March 1st is not the official deadline for all admissions to the school, as the ppl who interview in March will hear 4 -6 wks after their interviews. Hope that makes sense 🙂

I applied to UNC, and Campbell University recently. At this rate, I may interview and hear back from Campbell before UNC 😀
Have you called Pam and asked her if the admission decision for 1/22 interviewees had been made yet? If I were you, I would have called and bugged them for days. lol~I applied to UNC, and Campbell University recently. At this rate, I may interview and hear back from Campbell before UNC 😀
Good luck, rcatunc. I really hope that we hear anything(not just anything, but good thing) back from them.

The waiting is getting old- i interviewed 1/22 as well. I finally broke down and e-mailed them to see if they will be sending decisions out this week or next week... I'd like to think they would respond in a timely manner, but know that won't be the case. It took them 3 weeks (and several e-mails) to get back to me about a question regarding their Hep B requirement...
Oh well... good luck to everyone waiting to hear and for those about to interview.

Misswash82,
I am going to ask them in person tomorrow about the decision updates. I'll let you know (and everyone else who is waiting) if I hear anything useful.
Misswash,
My interview went okay. I was more nervous than I thought I would be, but I felt more comfortable as the interview went along. UNC does try to make it as low-key and friendly as possible. However, based on my personality type, I would have done better if they had been more direct and confrontational with the questions.
what do you mean when you say that they weren't direct & confrontational with the questions?
what do you mean when you say that they weren't direct & confrontational with the questions?
So basically, the interviewers were really friendly and asked me general questions that were open ended. After I finished answering them, they moved onto the next question. I wished they had followed up on my answers or even challenged some of my answers.
I also wished that they would have looked into my pharmcas and asked stuff like..."so tell me more about this and that that you did in 2004", or "so can you tell me why you received this failing grade in this class....how do you think you have improved yourself...etc"...for example. Based on my personality, I do better when I am confronted with direct questions rather than being asked more open ended questions. That's all I'm saying. I think UNC's interviewing style would work more in your favor.

I know the wait is very anxiety provoking. I think I've come to the realization that UNC will be our top choice, and UNC knows that too. Hence, we aren't going to have much leverage in this situation. Oh well...that is life, and that is what happens when we want to apply for the best school that is #3 in the nation with a very reasonable tuition 🙁
thanks! 🙂

It is a good program and once i can establish residency (if i get in) i can enjoy the low cost. It's not so much anxiety, as much as tired of waiting. I'm moving in May to either NC or VA (got into VCU) and have a fair amount to do between now and then (find a place to live, pack and move, etc) in 2 months... so i just want to get that part in motion and get the hell out of Connecticut as soon as possible.
For those who were accepted, are you planning on living alone or with someone else? When are you moving?

I would live alone. There's too much drama involved when you live with someone else.
I would live with someone else. I want to save as much money as possible. Although I totally agree with rcatunc about having drama with roommate(s), I will get a roommate or two for at least the first year. Are you looking for a roommate, fishPharmD?For those who were accepted, are you planning on living alone or with someone else? When are you moving?
For those of you that were already accepted from out of this area, first of all congrats😀, and second, I think it's a good idea that you guys go ahead and start looking for housing in the area. Current UNC undergrads are in the process of recontracting.....so just keep that in mind. I don't know if the school gave you this information already, but you can look at the campus paper online to see places for rent/sale.

Hey, just dropping in to say good luck to everybody. I am also anxiously awaiting a reply as I interviewed on the Feb. 21 date. Hopefully they will let us know by mid March as someone mentioned. Also, salutations to all of my fellow prospective UNC Pharmacy students.
It is currently 5:56pm on February 29th, the day before the March 1st deadline. Has anyone heard yet? I interviewed back in December and they said that decisions would be made by March 1st.

I haven't heard anything. Looks like they won't make the March 1st deadline unless if they work weekends.
I can not believe this, but I did get the invite for interview on Friday, Feb 29th, after I have already compeletely given up hope!
On the subject line it says "final session" so that I guess whatever I am getting will be the last batch. I don't know how long it takes for them to invite everyone for the last session, so theremight be still hope for those who are still waiting.
I called Pam and left her a message, not sure which date I will be scheduled yet. But I am pretty excited since I have totally given up!
Wish everyone good luck!

I heard the last interview day will be March 10th; I hope you didn't have any extravagant spring break plans. I know I would clear my calender to go to a UNC pharm interview, but I know some people who had to cancel out-of-country trips/flights. It will be worth it in the long run though. Congrats on the invite and good luck. I'm looking forward to my interview on the 6th...... starting to get those butterflies; yikes!

Matt, I know how you feel about those butterflies!! I interview on Thursday and it's all I've been thinking about!!😍 Which session are you scheduled for?

12-3; the 1st one. What about you? I can't wait!
I scheduled from 12-3 also! I'm excited and anxious and nervous all at the same time!!

This is becoming redundant, but has anyone who interviewed in Dec-February heard back from UNC?
I interviewed in Dec and was accepted Jan. 30.
I interviewed in Dec and was accepted Jan. 30.
Has anyone heard back during the March 1st deadline? (excluding those who heard back on Jan 30th)
Ratunc, I interviewed in December and have not heard back despite the March 1st deadline. 🙁
I emailed on Sunday to request about the admission decision, but I have not heard a thing back yet. I am still waiting. Just like rcatunc, I am only for UNC. It's getting frustrating!!No. I interviewed in December and have still not heard. I called in on about the 28th to see if we would hear by March 1, and was told that they were still reviewing applications...
There are still 2 more days of interviews to be held so they might be waiting to make their decisions based on how those go. I thinks its obvious the March 1st deadline is kinda out the window. I am keeping my fingers crossed as well as I have my interview in 2 days! Good luck to everyone.

Do they notify you by email or snail mail regarding whether or not you are accepted? I hope they don't send it to my home address in HI, cause it seems like that would make it take longer for me to find out...
they will send you an email then snail mail 🙂
Why do you say so? How do you know they are going to send the admission decision by the end of this week? I am so freaking waiting~~~!!!!Ok, so it looks like the first batch of letters were sent out around Jan. 30 and that none have been sent out thus far. Hopefully the second batch will be sent out by the end of this week.
OMG! I just got my UNC acceptance last sat when I checked my mail. While in the elevator in my apartment going through my regular bills and junk mail i saw this big envelope from UNC. I ripped the envelope so hard that I almost tore up all the papers inside. I could not believe it. I had to make my sister read it to make sure i am accepted because after a series of rejections I really didnt think there is still hope.
I interviewed on Feb 7 so i'm sure many of you will hear from UNC soon! Good luck and stay hopeful!
For those who already got accepted, how do you know what is your "PID number". They asked for it on several of the paperworks... I emailed UNC but no replies and the deposit needs to be RECEIVED by next week.

When you are enrolled at UNC, you will get your PID number. You need this for selecting your classes, checking your grades and all that. They just use the standard form for every one which asks for PID number. But you don't have it until you are accepted and enrolled.
Congrats on getting accepted. As far as your PID number goes, that is for UNC students who are already enrolled at the University. When you enroll at UNC you are assigned a PID number that is specific to you and is used for meal plans, submitting homework, etc basically just identifying you. You will not have anything to put down if you are not currently enrolled at UNC. Again, congratulations and if I'm lucky enough, I'll be joining you next year.
jacst3r, first of all, congrats. I am so happy for everyone getting accepted to UNC. I hope I can join you guys next year. Secondly, did you not get email firsthand before you get your acceptance letter? Other accepted people said that they received the email first. I was just wondering where I should pay more attention to, email or mail.
