University of Alabama (UAB) Class of 2025 Interview/Acceptance Thread

Based on what I read from previous years' threads, those letters were sent to OOS only. People were talking about how majority of IS will be interested (for obvious reasons), and so UAB does not send those emails to IS. But did any IS students receive anything from UAB?

Received an email a few days ago asking if I was still interested in UAB. They asked me to reach out to them. I replied, but haven’t heard anything since. Anyone else receive this?
I also received this email and replied (I am oos). I just got a reply from UAB this morning

Is anyone here managing the Facebook page for UAB SOD Class of 2025. I've requested to join since someone told me about it. But I've still not been made a member? Is this an "official" page? Would really like to connect with people to get ideas for housing. TIA

I finally got added to it yesterday, did you? Anyway, if you just want to talk about it DM me. Looking for ideas too.

I messaged the moderator about it a couple of weeks ago. She said they were waiting for it to be approved, but this morning the page accepted my request.

Normally UAB favors in-state which makes sense because Alabama needs more dentists, but this time it seems like they're trying to see if any OOS people will accept first.
I know the new dean wanted to increase the class size by about 20 students, but this doesn't seem like a good idea either because one of their main strengths other than the more reasonable tuition is the smaller class size. They haven't added any new facilities, so I would think this would make the clinical experience not as strong?
I asked about the potential increase in class size during my interview after I heard about it from some alumni. The assistant dean told me that they hope to have it in play in the next few years, but that is all she was able to tell me.

I got the call yesterday! I’m IS. Not sure if I came off waitlist or what? My status never changed from “under review” until yesterday after the call.

I talked to them friday and they said they still had roughly 10 seats left, but have wrapped up interviews for this cycle.
Who did you talk to? Every time I call it doesn't give me the option to talk to anyone and says to email them instead

To those waiting, have you been specially told you’re on the waitlist? Or just haven’t heard back?
