Good luck with the interview everyone! I'm entering 2nd year pharmacy and I know how stressful the MMIs are, not to mention the new acting station!? 😱

mmis are a lot less stressful than the 1 on 1 interview

Any of the guys not wearing suit jackets? Pharmacists don't wear suit jackets, right!? Am I thinking too much!?

if that's your reasoning.. ill lend you my london drugs uniform, or my labcoat. 😛 cuz that's what they wear

my dad told me that i have to cut my hair short like a pharmacist

he also suggested that i wear fake glasses to the interview to look more like a pharmacist

anyone else have similar experiences?

During my last year's interview, I saw more guys with no suits than with suits (maybe because of the hot weather that day). I think a long sleeve shirt and a tie is enough,(and maybe a vest) but it is always up to you 🙂

Hey guys,

I was wondering if I could join a practice group. My email is [email protected].

I got back from vacation few days ago. I really hope its not too late for me to get in.

Thanks,
Hersh S.

I would also really like to participate in the pharmacy MMI practice group.
Please add me in and let me know when and where so I can come and join you guys.
My email is [email protected]

for those of you who went to the interview last year, was there a rest station and are you allowed to bring anything to drink? thx🙄

If anyone is interested, a group of us are going to have a prep group next week which will include a mock interview. It will probably be at SFU or UBC, if anyone is interested, send me an email: reversefall at gmail dot com

🙂

Yes there was a rest station, but depending on which station you start at, it could be right at the beginning or end, so it doesn't really make much difference. And yes you can bring a drink around with you for the whole thing.

actually, drinks are allowed, but only alcoholic beverages

Honestly, I would, but my interview is on the 12th, which is no good either.

Hi everyone,

There is an emergency case for me and I cannot make to my interview on Saturday june 11th.I emailed Margaret and she told me that all the spots are full for june 18/19 and if I don’t make it to the interview I will miss my spot.I really can not make it since I am trapped in mexico since my passport is stolen.I can get a new passport in a week so i wont be able to get there by june 11.Is there anyone from june 18/19 dates who can change the date with me?I can pay you $2000 for exchanging your interview date with me.please help me if the date of your interview does not make a big difference for you.please please
my email address is [email protected]

I think people should and WOULD do it for free. It's already difficult to get to this point someone should help this person. I cannot because my date is the first week. Dont pay that kind of money. I know you REALLY want to be there but $2000 is a bit of a strech. Give the person $500 max for their kindness. If we cannot help each other in these situations, then we shouldn't be entering the health and help related field.

^^ditto that. i would do it for free if i had a later interview date but mine is on the 12th so wouldnt help either. help this person out if no one hasn't yet. just think of the good karma it might bring. perhaps u can use it to answer a question in the interview. 🙂

I'm sorry I have my interview on the 12th so it wont help either 🙁

Quoting this post so people that usually only read the last post will notice..I hope somebody comes in to help 😀

Hey everyone,

So over the past couple of weeks, I have been researching typical interview questions and such. After having done some more research on MMI's specifically, it seems that most questions are either very situational or ethically based. Do you think that we will still be receiving a few traditional questions? And if so, how many of each type do you think we will have?

It's impossible to have an accurate number, but I was just wondering what you guys think of it.

Also, I was wondering if you guys have any ideas for practising the MMI's. Seeing how I'm from Ottawa, I can't exactly join up with you guys for practice all the way in BC 😛

I'm sorry, but the 18th is the only weekend possible for me, so I cannot switch.

In other news, I definitely had a nice dose of reality today when I realized how soon interviews start! They seemed so far away before!

thats good to hear! if all else failed you probably could've asked the drug lords to let you use their tunnels.. im sure they would've understood if you told them you needed to get back home so you could go to drug dealer school interview. drug dealing is universal.. right?? :meanie:

Do you think they'll give us a room or something to put our personal belongings in?

Or are we expected to bring nothing at all?

during the interviews, do the interviewers ask us stuff? or are we expected to blab for the entire 6 minutes without any response from the interviewers?

I believe there will be follow up questions during the interview.

But you should come prepared to talk for the entire 6 minutes - regardless.

Good luck to everyone today!

Good luck to everyone having their interviews next week! 🙂

Yup and Yup🙂 Was fun👍
So no follow up questions? And were there more obvious questions such as "why do you want to be a pharmacist?" or scenario based questions? I'd understand if you don't want to give me a reply  lol

Oh and GO CANUCKS GO!!! 👍

Could someone please clarify, Is there really no place at all to put your belongings in??

There may or may not be follow up questions if you finish before the time is up. We can't tell you what type of questions there are because of legal issues though, so don't bother asking.

There is a place to put your belongings, but it isn't super secure, so don't bring anything too valuable.

any thoughts on the new acting station? was it fun/easy?😀

all I can say is I saw a lot of smiles after the interview..so I guess everybody else will be able to survive 😉

Anybody know what percentage of the admissions index score is based on each application component (GPA, interview, PCAT, application)?

Anybody know what percentage of the admissions index score is based on each application component (GPA, interview, PCAT, application)?

As I know it is 50% GPA 40% interview and 10% pact and application after interview at this point, but before getting interview PCAT and application are very important it is like 50% GPA and 50% the rest of it
