Hey Everyone! I haven't seen a thread for Edinburgh's vet school so I decided to start it here! I'm personally an American student who applied to the GEP 4 year program and got an interview so I was very interested in hearing from others about this as well--especially does anyone know how many people apply / how many people get this interview?

All the best!

I applied too. I'm a Canadian and got an interview for the GEP too.

The biggest thing for me is cost. I know its equivalent or even cheaper than american out of state (and even some instate) schools. But for a Canadian, one year of tuition in Europe or the US is more than an entire degree here in Canada.

Sort of gave up back here though since we only get to apply to one school.

Yea the price was very comparable to my in-state school and Edinburgh's reputation and culture was very attractive for me.

Yeah the reputation of the college there is superb. And who wouldn't want to live in Edinburgh.

May I ask how you plan on tackling the debt load? Am I missing something or do most Americans spend 25 years paying off their loans?

For undergrad I have virtually no student debt because I was preparing for vet school to be the main source of student loans. I was lucky enough to go to an ivy league university that I'll be graduating from this year and the Ivies have some of the best financial aid services in the country which helped make my decision for my undergrad degree. As for vet school student loans I was planning on paying them once I begin working in the field and talking with faculty at whatever school I go to for some tips on paying it off.

I am from the US, this is the only school I applied to out of the states. I have an interview in February.

Decisions are out! OOS Acceptance! The tuition is cheaper than Virginia- Maryland but the cost of living is more expensive and you have to factor in travel as well. Any thoughts?

For those who have applied in the past to Edinburgh - does one of my references need to be from a science course prof? have been seeing contradicting info on the website/on the AAVMC website...
