On edinburghs website for the yearly stats, I’m confused on why it says in 2024 they offered 136 places but only placed 60? Are people on the reserve list placed within the 136?

Yes, basically some people will decline their offers or not meet the grades so more offers are sent out to reserve list people.

Is there a current student in the 4 year program who would be willing to chat? I have some questions that would be helpful hearing from a student perspective. I had a tour in the past month there and was actually a little disappointed with it. The facilities were amazing but I think I hit it at a bad time. Overall though, during my interview I loved it and am really hoping to learn more.

I’m going for a tour in the next month. What didn’t you like about it?

I was only a little disappointed but I think it would have been fine. I just had a tour guide that wasn’t really as knowledgeable about the program or facilities as I would have expected.

My interview was great and I adored the faculty and recent graduates I met. So overall, my expectations were pretty high for the tour. During the tour the facilities were great, but to learn much about the facilities or what we were looking at I had to keep asking questions. The guide was maybe introverted or not as knowledgeable about the program but still VERY kind and answered as best as I think they could. I had a hard time finding out as much about the 4 yr program or student life surrounding it or extracurricular/clubs. They may have also just been having an off/tired day and didnt feel like explaining rooms or facilities as much.

Again though, they were VERY kind and seemed to try their best and the facilities were great. Everyone has an off day so I’m not holding it against them or the school at all. I’ll just reach out separately for some additional questions I have 🙂
 
Has anyone looked at the pros and cons of Glasgow vs Edinburgh? Or have any input on both schools?

I have started to look and really they are comparable - it’s going to be a hard decision. I am trying to connect with people at either school. I did speak with an experienced vet who has hired many internationally trained vets over the years and he always felt that Edinburgh trained vets were extremely well trained and knowledgeable right out of school.

Just wondering if anyone knows the deadline for accepting an offer for the four year program?
 
Has anyone who is on the reserve list for the 4yr program had any movement yet? I figured if Edinburgh's decision day is May 10th, we probably won't hear from them until after that, but figured to ask
 
Trying to pay the deposit down for the Edinburgh seat offered. The link that the school sent is rejecting the credit card that is valid. Did anyone else have problems? Is there a special way since we’re paying from the US?
