Trying to decide between U of Maryland and Einstein, am OOS for Maryland. Any thoughts as to which has better research opportunities, better opportunities for residency, better curriculum/rotation schedules? Thanks!

Going to U Maryland will give you opportunities to not only do research at U of Maryland but also Johns Hopkins since it is so close by.

66k/yr is absurd for tuition at a school if you have cheaper options. Go to einstein

If the price happened to be the same, would you still say Einstein?

Don’t know enough about Maryland to give an answer, sorry. But I interviewed at Einstein and thought it was a phenomenal school with cheap living options and reasonable tuition

don’t go to umd. old ass facilities, not a fan of UMMC, or Maryland General. Graded cirriculum. Baltimore blows lol. einstein ftw

IMO same could be said for any of the NYC schools.

My personal opinion is that Maryland is a slow to change, bureaucratic, institution. They are a very traditional med school. That being said, they have a lot of research opportunities and their students get good educations. Baltimore isn’t such a bad place to live, and it’s a great place to study medicine if you’re interested in learning social sides of health as well and working with underserved populations.

That being said, Einstein has all those opportunities but better, IMO, and it’s not so stubborn with regards to curriculum, grading, etc.
