Did they say how long we have to wait to hear back from them? I interviewed on April 10 and haven't heard from them since. The only thing I know is that they review our files on Tuesday right after our interview and some people have received acceptance packets a few days after that day.

I interviewed on April 10th too (the afternoon session) and when I asked them how long before I heard a response they said 2 weeks is the earliest. So just because some people heard already doesn't mean you won't get an acceptance🙂. Maybe you should call and ask them...my letter actually had the wrong address on it so I was surprised I even got it in the mail.

Hay, what's up cinnamoroll12... Were you able to find those prereq courses you needed for Ole Miss?

I found Biomedical Ethics, but am sort of working on Medical Microbio right now. I know they offer an online version of "Microbiology for Health Professions" but I don't know if it's equivalent to Medical Microbio or not. I'm still waiting to hear back from Ole Miss about this, since I emailed them 2 days ago.

Do they offer these courses at Ole Miss in the summer?

Not that I know of. The Biomedical Ethics class is an online class from Michigan. The online Microbio class that I mentioned above is actually offered by UNE, and after reading their syllabus it seems like it's a Medical Microbio class that is titled differently. I just hope that works out though.

Same here; let me know how it turns out... 👍 Btw, I don't know if this is true or not, but I was told by the leasing manager at Bayside apartments that there will probably be 120 UNECOP students coming in the fall. The school is trying to work w/ Bayside to appropriate 120 rooms. I was almost certain that they were only enrolling 100 students this year and I mentioned this to the leasing manager. However, she said they are trying to get 120 rooms solely for COP students... So 120 seats I guess, but I will call UNE tmw to verify.

Hmm, 120 seats is a lot for a new school. How far is Bayside from campus?

anyone going to UNE from the NJ, PA, NY area want to meet this summer before we move up to maine

Everyone going to UNE in the fall needs to be CPR/AED/Advanced First Aid certified. I spoke w/ Janel Redman last week and she confirmed that the following class meets UNE Health professions requirements:
American Heart Association Heartsaver First Aid With CPR & AED. It is 5-8 hour course that offers everything. Although the title is not "Advanced First Aid", it is the same thing b/c it is designed for health professions. Once again, I have already confirmed this Ms. Redman. Make sure you sign up for the class that combines all three b/c they are also taught separately!!! The following is a link that explains this course:
http://www.americanheart.org/presenter.jhtml?identifier=3054129
To find a class in near you, go to the following link and enter your zip code:
http://americanheart.org/presenter.jhtml?identifier=3012360

BTW, when you are searching for a class near you, select Heartsavers First Aid as the course you are looking for. Make sure to contact the facility and ask them if they offer Heartsavers First Aid in combination w/ CPR and AED... Trust me, I have already taken this course and you will find it a lot easier to take the combination course and get over it in 5-8 hours (mine was actually 6hrs). Taking each course separately will be a strain on your knees (for CPR and AED training) and a lot longer in duration. Hope this helps some of you....

lol..the 18th was a Sat... You must mean the 17th. Anyway, congrats on your acceptance MIkeNB🙂

Has anyone else heard anything since the April 17th interview? MIkeNB got an acceptance. But no one else posted a reply. Does anyone know what the ADCOM plans to do next?

I interviewed on the 17th and still have yet to hear back. Did anyone else hear back from that interview?

I interviewed on April 17th and received my acceptance a week later (24th) .

Congrats rxgirl09!!! Are you planning on accepting it.

I'm not sure yet. I put down the deposit but I'm still waiting to hear back from another school.

Unfortunately still waiting to hear back 🙁

I just found out that I was placed on the alternate list today. I just like most of you guys, interviewed on April 17th, but did not hear anything back since then so I emailed them this afternoon and they told me that I was on the alternate list, and I should received the letter soon. 🙁

Same here, I haven't heard a peep from them since my April 10th interview. Were you in the AM or PM session?

I think they start sending rejection and waitlist letters out this week.

You emailed to Peggy right? I just emailed her last night and am waiting for a response.

I'm a little confused because in Ms Redman's email she said that we need "you will also need to complete a Red Cross certified Professional Rescuer Training course that includes cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and defibrillator training, as well as advanced first aid. The Professional Rescuer Training course is 8 hours long with a certification exam. You may find the course offered by other organizations but the Red Cross course should be the Professional Rescuer Training course."
The one that the AHA offers isnt a "Professional Rescuer Training" course... I called the lady that offers the course in Houston and she said that it normally doesnt satisfy health professional requirements.... and I picked HeartSaver AED and you also have to pick the HeartSaver First Aid to get the CPR, AED, and First Aid all together... can u send me the email which says that Ms Redman approved that particular class? Thanks

also, i searched for an american red cross class for the rescuer training and there is an online course called rescuer professional training with cpr, aed, and first aid but u have to also take a "skills test" to be certified in cpr and aed but that skills test seems to only be available in Indiana...

If you go to the link you will see that there is a combination course that offers everything. Also, I work in a hospital and I spoke w/ the people who are in charge of teaching the course at my job and they said it does meet the professional requirements b/c you have to take an exam at the end and you have to practice physically administering CPR, using an AED, and performing Fist Aid techniques properly in front of a proctor to pass the class. I spoke w/ Ms. Redman via email and phone and she verified that the combination Heartsavers course is satisfactory for meeting the UNE's req....

By the way, if you are BLS certified you still have to take (only) the First Aid as a standalone course b/c BLS only covers AED and CPR

im just wondering if the american heart assn courses are acceptable, because in the email i received from ms. redman, she specified it has to be red cross, i assume if you already are certified then you should be fine, but if you have yet to be certified then you should try to only sign up for the red cross course....just my 0.02

I interviewed to this school on April 3rd and It has been over a month without any response. That to me is a slap in the face and just plain flat out rude.

No, I got certified after I spoke w/ Ms. Redman. Pharmacy techs at the hospital I work at are not required to be CPR/AED/First Aid certified. However just to be clear, my job offers the AHA course free for employees. To verify if the Red Cross and the AHA courses were equivalent, I contacted Ms Redman and I was told that they are. To be ever clearer!!! The AHA class is an alternative option for people who can't find a red cross version of the class in their area. I for example, would have to travel 45+ miles out of my way just to take the Red Cross course. However, there are at least 6 facilities in my area (w/in 5-10miles) that offer the AHA CPR/AED/ First Aid course......

The benefit of AHA version is that it has the skills test built into the class itself. You are shown all the proper procedures for performing CPR/AED/First Aid first by a proctor(s), and then you have to physically perform what you learned in front of that/those proctor(s). After you pass/complete the physical performance part (equivalent to skills test), you then have to take a multiple choice exam before you receive your certification card (which is usually given on-site). Everything is in one 6-8hr class i.e., you do not have to take an online course at home and then a skills test at a facility later on….. Just my 0.02 cents

 u really have a lot of free time and nothing better to do but SDN i see,

has anyone got an email from UNE about a background check, just want to make sure others get it too before i submit info

I emailed Ms. Redman and she said that decision letters have been sent out this week, so check your mails in the next few days. Now I'm worried about getting a rejection letter...since I haven't received one after an interview before, except for alternate list letters.
