University of North Carolina Application Thread

This year is actually the first year I've heard of UNC's on hold status. I may be wrong but I would assume holding is behind waitlist because waitlist people have already interviewed. According to another SDN member, those on hold at UNC have not yet interviewed.
 
I have interviewed and placed on hold. I think it is because I am taking 4 pre-requisites currently and they want to be able to review my application once they receive those grades.
 
I just got the mail that says I am on hold. I have not interviewed. I was kind of surprised I expected a rejection letter. Anyway, I'm going to withdraw my application as I have already accepted another school. Good luck to everyone else!

Is there an accepted students forum yet? I wanted to get together an talk about apts and all these crazy forms/immunizations we have to think about. 😀

Yep, I found my roommates through the facebook group too. It's still pretty early, so don't feel like you're behind at all.
 
For those currently waitlisted do you know when we find out where we are ranked on the waitlist? Or are there any current student familiar with this process?
 
They said that they do an internal ranking system and is not released for the waitlist...
 
Has anyone that was on the waitlist received a spot yet? I know the forms were to be turned in on 3/31, which wasn't very long ago, so I'm just curious! Good luck to everyone still waiting to hear.

i actually received a wait list spot a few days ago but declined the offer since I have already decided to go to umb. it was weird because i didnt even turn in the form to be kept on the waitlist...oh well hopefully someone who wants the spot gets it!

Glad to hear there is some sort of life from the waitlist. I was starting to think that this waitlist was going to just turn into a rejection list. Sohipat, did they notify you by email or were you given a phone call?

they called me letting me know spots had opened up and asked if i was still interested

got call today about acceptance from waitlist.
 
Congrats falkhag! I'm glad you got off the waitlist. It is so hard not knowing what number you are and just waiting without any type of update. I'm still on the waitlist but I just interviewed at another school and although I don't want to pass up the in-state tuition I am thinking UNC may not be the best place for me. I just feel a bit intimidated going back to such a big school. So if I get in at the other school I interviewed at I will pay my deposit and revisit my decision if UNC offers me a spot later on.

debating between ohio state and unc -- ohio state does in-state residence (with corresponding tuition) after the first year.... both schools have similar stats, dilemma.
 
Got a call yesterday about an opening on the Asheville campus and got a call today for Chapel Hill... I accepted at Chapel Hill. The wait list is moving... Good luck to everyone still waiting.
 
No posts in this thread in a month. I'm guessing there's no movement on the wait-list either.

I did receive an email saying my application for UNC was complete, and a friend that's a P1 there did say they interview extremely late; starting in December and ending almost in March. She had already paid a deposit at another school by the time she heard back, but obviously, she decided on UNC.

I would like to know what did you do during undergrad to get accepted to all those schools especialy UNC?
