Hey Everyone,

I figured I'd start a thread about news on people waitlisted at University of Rochester. I haven't seen one on SDN so far.

So, please post if you are waiting to hear from them or have been accepted off the waitlist.

Thanks.

Thanks for posting.

Yeah, you are right about the minimal movement. I called the school and the secretary said the same thing. Do you know if this is typical for them.

keep the faith!

i had written two letters to dean hansen, only to have him reply that the "class was holding very well" and "we shouldn't go too far on the waitlist." that was two or three days ago. today i got the call--he said "a few spots opened up!"

i think the list is moving slowly...but it's definitely moving! keep your head up!

For some reason, many schools have very slow waitlist movement this year. Is there a particular reason for this or is it one those unforunate years for people on the waitlists?

Would anybody who got in off the waitlist care to share thier vital stats. I plan to be a 2004 applicant, and am wondering if I will be wasting my time.

Judd

I've emailed Dr. Hansen as well. He told me there wasn't much movement, like he's told all of you. I'm just glad to hear some spots have opened up!

THAT's depressing, isn't it? Your father is an associate prof, and you got waitlisted!!! I have a 30Q, but my father is an ambulance chaser. I have a law degree though (ivy). So, maybe that will help.

I am starting to hate this process--and I have not started it yet.

I am a bit unclear why it should matter what your parents' occupations are and why that should effect your medical school admission's process - perhaps you could explain?

Regardless of who or where your parents are - the admissions process should be by merit, not by birthright.

I agree with you airborne.

I find it odd that they ask your parents occupation on AMCAS. Does it really matter and if it does why?

Does Dean Hansen write back to everyone saying that he'll put your letter of intent in your file whenever you send one?

Any recent news?

C'mon People. Is there that little movement at Rochester?

Just so you know, I withdrew my acceptance today at Rochester after hearing from my state school (University of Washington) last week. Very sad to do so -- it is an amazing school! 😍 But hopefully it will help out you waitlisters.

Good luck to all...

i called yesterday. The person said there might be some movement right before the classes begin.
