nothing in the email, im guessing the tuesday thing holds

spent the previous three hours hoping for a UT email and now the tuesday postponement - im off to the PAC-10 tournament to enjoy some college bball
 
7:20pm...nothing. uggh. Looks like it really will be Tuesday. Make sure to post if you get in! The rest of us are all waiting to hear when the invities have gone out!

Man, I work 10-8 Tuesday. I don't want to figure out during work. I can't scream and jump up and down if I get in at the pharmacy...lol..and I can't cry either!

Of course you can! I know I would if I still worked at my store. Hug my pharmacist and the other techs and run laps around the shelves and drink all the Tussionex.

If it doesnt cost anythibg further, I would challenge that. Its spring break and they are out there to ticket you whenever they can. Do you live in Austin?

I'm guessing it's under Austin municipal's court?? I would just call them and ask these questions. I usually just do the driver's safety course route, but my friend has fought plenty of tickets and he says that almost always more beneficial. They'll at worse strike a plea bargain with you (at least that's what he told me). At best, you get off the hook because if the officer doesn't show up, ticket is dismissed by default.
 
I guess we have to suffer until Tuesday or like 2 weeks from now or worse, we won't get in. Good luck to all of us. Hopefully, we all get in.

I'm still pretty excited about getting into A&M, but I'll be even more ecstatic if I can remain a longhorn!!!
 
I've been following these forums for a while but couldn't really respond because I just had a slew of tests and presentations and practicals. fun times.

Anyway, I'd say just enjoy your weekend and try your best to not get stuck on it. I forgot about it when I was a pre-pharmer and since I get e-mail on my phone, I got my acceptance e-mail as I was about to bite into a sandwich at Jason's Deli. It was the best victory sandwich ever but that's besides the point.

And I want to echo Lateralus, UT pharmacy school is really the best experience ever. I get to attend conventions all over the country (partially covered by UT thanks to generous alums) and even study abroad for my first rotation in Barcelona (Pharmobility.org, if you're interested). Lastly, the professors already treat you like the colleagues you'll soon be with them.

I know it's a stressful time but it's out of your hands now! So go out and enjoy your spring break, keep busy, and before you know it, there will be a response in your inbox!

Great tips from earlier posters. If you want to fight a ticket call or show up at the court office and tell them you want to do so. They will set up a court date for you and you will be able to go in and state your plea. I've heard good and bad stories about fighting tickets. Personally I always just pay my ticket, as all of the courthouse stuff can be stressful and take a lot of your time with no guarantee you will win. Can you really prove you were going 45? Not really. They will take the cop's word over yours. That said, defensive driving takes plenty of time too. Good luck!

Did he charge you for the speeding or for not wearing glasses? Does your license have the eye glass restriction?

My first ticket was in Georgetown. I was speeding and the speed limit dropped down suddenly 70 - 65 and I did not even notice. It was about 200 😡.

You would have to call court and give them the ticket number to find out how much was the ticket. Personally, I wont think about it too much..What happended just happened. Like the previous person said, they probably will listen to the cop than you. Its just going to put you into more frustration and it will be time consuming. No guarantees that you will win. Call and ask options. I think you can just take a driving course and have it not go on your driving. There are plenty of courses available online for ~$25.

You are in the process of applying to Pharm schools and I would put more focus on that :laugh:

Pharm school apps are done, man. I got the citation for not wearing glasses, and I have the restriction on my license. Officer said it's not going on my record or whatever. I'm living off loans and my parents' money right now so I don't know how to break the news to them, lol. "I wasn't wearing my broken glasses while driving, and I got pulled over for a made up speed!"

Agh I just want to find out if I got in already!

I am going to guess that they did not send out any emails on Friday as surely someone would have posted that they got their email.

Just call monday. If he didnt not charge you for speed, then it may not be as much. I know someone who got a speeding ticket for only $10 dollars.

Yeah but a DL restriction code A violation is a misdemeanor....

With all this waiting, I wonder if maybe the adcom wants us to suffer through spring break since they aren't really getting one.

My Spring Break starts Wednesday anyways. I'm just eating, sleeping, and studying now until my old college friends take vacation to go to SXSW :]
 
When I woke up this morning I was like Ugh..I less hour of sleep. Then the second thing I thought Oh Wait!!! One less hour of waiting and anxiety!!! I wish we could skip two days and go into Tuesday rather than one hour ahead. Haha.

Am I crazy? lol

Oh I wish I had that feeling! I'm in Arizona visiting family right now...and there is no daylight savings time to help speed things up.

I'm working six days straight this week. What's a spring break again?
 
Yeah...Cant rememeber the last time I had a real spring break. I work 40+ hours and have beein doing so since I was in college. Cant wait till I get into PhaRM school.....Not working sounds awsome and magnificent!!!😍

One more day folks!!!......Hopefully.....LOL

Ace...don't give up. Stay positive!! Yes more emails are going out but I'am not sure they are going out tomorrow. Maybe next week.'

Remember, not only is there a second round coming, there will be some people that will turn down UT, and spots will open up later in the year.

Congrats to all who got in!

Hopefully next round goes out tomorrow and not week after spring break. Impatiently waiting....:scared:

Can Texas Southern University push a PharmD applicant to go a an undergraduate BS in biomedical Scince to finish Pharm in 6 years instead of 4 years?
