LOL I forgot to mention that! I chose to fly into Sacramento. I believe that is the shortest distance, shorter than both Oakland and San Fran. It was about an hour drive if I recall. Yeah, kinda lame. I don't think the distance differences between the three airports is very significant, so if you can find a better rate at one airport than another, go for it!

I wonder just how expensive this trip is gonna be...😕 Anyone else realized that the date of the event is 9/11

Oh yes, I definitely realized that. Especially when I was booking my return trip home and realizing I would actually be flying on the 11th. That will be kinda strange.
Anyway, yes, these trips get expensive. I've already put in over $2000 in this application process, including all the school app fees, PharmCAS fees, PCAT fees, and 3 out-of-state trips to potential schools....and it's only August! All I can say is it will be worth every penny if I get accepted.

Jeez. Not that expensive for me yet. I will actually be flying back home on the 12th instead. Come to think of it, I might just leave on the 11th instead. Would have to catch a late flight though.

I just recently consider applying to UOP after reading the posts and just came across this, which I didn't know before. Thanks a bunch! The bad thing is I don't know any pharmacist well enough to ask them for a rec letter... 🙁

That's a crtitical aspect for UoP. Ask a pharmacist that you may know moderately well. Get some volunteering done and build on relationships with those pharmacists.

The supplemental essay is 300 words minimum. Is it better to reach 400-500 words? but then, the quality will not be as good since I will run out of things to say. I want to save their time and go for 300+ words.

Any suggestion is greatly appreciated. 😀

I did close to 500 words and actually thought my essay was a little restricted and concise.😕

I know what you mean. My essay was around 497 words and I felt like I wasn't able to express my thoughts thoroughly. Everything had to be concise and to the point....:uhno:

I think I haven't spent enough time on it yet, because I barely started it and got around 300 words. I have further editing to do. 😛

For the Pharmacy Educational Background Chart, should I list all the activities up to next year 2011?

I only have microeconomics, is it still fine for me to put Microeconomics under Macroeconomics for the pre-req?

I was attempting to elaborate more, but I'm not quite sure since the officer may not have time to read everything. That's why I tried to make it short and to the point. 😕
 
my supplemental was a little over 700 words... and that was after much editing. i had a lot to say since i went there as an undergrad, i'm glad there was no limit 🙂

EDIT:My supplemental wasn't 497 words...that was PharmCAS which was 497 characters....for my supplemental the word count was 936 🙂

Macroeconomics and Microeconomics are two completely different courses. Some schools prefer Mircoeco over Macroeco but majority prefer Macroeconomics. Yes I believe you do. Read the instructions and follow the example listed on the website.

😱 Why so much? I hope you made a very clear distinction between your supplemental essay and your PS. 936 words seem like overkill to me. If you clearly answered the questions asked then I think you should be ok.

I read the FAQ, and it says that Microeconomics is fine as long as the applicant has a US bachelor degree? But in the pre-req worksheet, it only states Macroeconomics, so I'm not sure if I can fill Microeconomics under Macro since I have bachelor degree.

Yeah I made a clear distinction 🙂....936 words is about 1 page single spaced maybe a little more so it's not that long. I have a bad habit of writing a lot when I write....you should have seen how long it was before I cut some things out :laugh:

Oh sorry you didn't specify. So you do have a degree yes? If so, I would put it under the "Other Liberal Arts" column and leave that section blank. You can try emailing Veronica Semler for verification. She is pretty good at responding promptly.

i was just wondering if anyone's status on the application status checker for uop is updated yet. mine still says that "no app has been received." i know several people on this forum sent in their apps really early, so i just wanted to check up on the status.

Some of us have received an email from Veronica stating that she received our PharmCAS applications, so now is when they will begin the review of the applications and compare them to the supplementals if they are both finished. Did you submit your PharmCAS?
I'm not sure what my status checker says right now, I don't have my Pacific ID handy, but I'm expecting the next thing I will be updated on is with something in the mail.

No one's status should be updated yet. The email said it would be a few weeks for them to match the supplemental stuff to the PharmCAS apps. Give it some time.

I've been checking everyday and there's nothing on mine so far.
 
Yup I submitted my PharmCAS already. But I submitted my supplemental really close to the Tier 1 Deadline, so I just wasn't sure if the delay was because I turned in everything in too late or whatnot.

But I guess since no one else's status is updated either, I shouldn't worry :/

If your envelop was postmarked before 08/01/10 then you should be fine.

Yeah...it shows that they recieved my transcripts but everything else shows that it is still being processed....what about you?

All I see are the columns listed: "Item #, Description, Date Received"

Other than that, I don't see anything else...

Yeah, that's exactly what mine has...just the column headings but no info underneath. I wasn't expecting anything for another couple weeks though so I'm not alarmed.

Just checked mine and it says the same thing as y'alls. Not really worried at this time. The school has been pretty good about sending out emails/letters to keep us up-to-date.
 
If I initially started my supplemental app online, is it possible for me to fill it out using the pdf file? Will UOP think that I leave the online one incomplete?Thanks.
