Hey guys,
I learned the alternate list moved up one spot.
Hopefully we will hear good news soon.

Seagal said:ahumdinger,
when i called, I was told that last year they accepted 4 people off the unranked and the year before that the number was 6. 🙂
hope that helps.
ahumdinger said:weee! Hey Seagal, are you going to meet with Dr. Samson?
Hi Ahumdinger,
No, at this point, all I could do is wait. 🙂 Hopefully we will soon have more waitlist movement. Don't worry about them getting to unrankers before your meet with Dr. Samson. 🙂 Last year they didn't get to the unrankers till late June.![]()

Goodluck to all of us still waiting.
sparkysgirl said:I was thinking we schould trade off calling every week, that way it'll be harder for them to get annoyed with one of us in particular. I'm up for calling Monday, since they're having the second look event today. Come mid May I'll be in Europe, so I'm going to have to depend on you guys calling and posting what you heard.

sparkysgirl said:hey guys, as you'll probably figure out in the coming weeks I'm very neurotic. After that warning I went back and looked at the 04-05, 03-04, and 02-03 waitlist threads. By this time those years they'd accepted 6, 9 and 7 people off the list. I realize it's early but any one else worried our year is slower?
I did a search for Washington; they had various names but I always looked for ones that had a last entry in July/August. In terms of trying to keep my mind off all this junk, I'm planning a trip to Europe in May. But, as you can tell it's not working too well. 🙂Seagal said:Speaking of neurotic 🙂 Where did you get those numbers from? Looking back i could only find the UWash adcom meeting thread. Which threads are you looking at? I am worried about our year being slower as well. 🙁 I am trying so hard not to think about it....but not being very successful.
How are the rest of you coping/ keeping yourself occupied till May-15th?
4176 said:When you go to meet with Dr. Samson, what are we supposed to wear? Is this a formal suit type meeting?
ahumdinger said:I plan on wearing a suit, perhaps without the jacket so it's not just like my first interview. I figured that you can't go wrong with looking professional, especially if we're looking to get off the waitlist. We gotta dress to impress!
4176, when are you meeting with Dr. Samson? My appt isn't until May 12. I wonder what tone the meeting will have...I really hope it's more laid back than my initial interview!!
4176 said:ahumdinger, I haven't scheduled a meeting with Dr. Samson yet. I am high up on the Idaho waitlist, so I want to wait to see if I get in around May 15th. I spoke to a girl who didn't get in last year who reapplied and she met with Dr. Samson and she said that he was really helpful. He talked to her about the schools she applied to and her interview and everything! She highly recommended meeting with him. And, by the way, she reapplied and got in this year!
ahumdinger said:hi all! I am leaving this evening to go to Seattle! meeting with Dr. Samson tomorrow. I was googling around and found this
http://students.washington.edu/aed/archiveminutes/950530.html
it's pretty old, from 1995 (i can't believe i'm saying that's old), but at the bottom of the page, there's an interesting tid bit about 20 ranked and 20 unranked. Don't know how out of date those numbers are, especially since the document also says that they regularly accept about 18 off the ranked list.
ahhhh! I'm scared for tomorrow. I gotta knock his socks off.
Seagal said:Hey Ahumdinger,
I am sure you will be great! Best of luck to you. 🙂 Everyone has pretty much said that the meeting with him is pretty laid back. He is encouraging...so you have nothing to worry about!![]()

Now about the numbers...I think about 10 years ago, they were expecting to take in only 20 or so people, hence leaving the numbers at 20. Now, according to swman they expect to take in 25-30. Maybe I am writing this just to calm myself...who knows. I am trying really hard not to call them today since you are going to be there tomorrow. But I really really want to call. Yikes.
I am surprised that this year, we have so few discussing this thread compared to last year's.
Let us know how it went.
Good luck ahumdinger!!!!!ahumdinger said:oh seagal hold on just one more day and I'll get you a count on the waitlist movement. I forget, did you say you were on the ranked list? I sure hope they go down to 30. I was hoping that there's only 20 on the unranked list, 'cause that would make my chances a little bit better, I suppose.
Okay, bye all, will report tomorrow!
Maybe this might help...Seagal said:Hey Ahumdinger,
