Based on last years thread and what we've seen so far this year, TCOM does 2 batches: one at the very beginning and another right before they let out for Xmas break. I do think they might reject (the dreaded 'your app has been reviewed' statement) in between though...
 
How do you check your application status??
 
hi guys! I officially declined my TCOM acceptance today. Hope one of you in here waiting get it!:luck:
 
I asked the same question some days ago, and it seems that last year there were two significant batches of offers sent out. One took place on Nov. 15th and the other a few days before Christmas. I called admissions to check on this, and they basically told me what COSTALES says.

Yea, i saw that already.

But i've read other places of people getting that status...and ending up waitlisted...and eventually getting accepted.
And I read of people having their status changed back and forth between "Reviewed" and "Under review"

So i'm confused.
 
I guess you could try calling and ask to talk to Caroline. She is very nice. Although, it looks like DrJules tried to call and didn't get much info...

Sounds like you've been accepted somewhere... this statement is a foreign language to those of us waiting to be able to say we are officially in the class of 2016. Congrats on your acceptance though and best of luck in medical school 🙂
 
Hello guys, this is my first time using SDN--- I was wondering if any of you guys that have been accepted, did your application changed from "under review" to "reviewed"?-- appreciate your help

Nope if you have been accepted w prematch offer it will say something different. Reviewed status usually means you were ranked somewhere on the match list so wait timing prob won't hear anything till match

omg... if thats true, i'm pumped i might still have a chance.

Look at the previous posts but usually:
(remember we have heard of some exceptions but tcom doesnt usually reject in state applicants , unless your interview was horrible + im not 100% positive on the wording since im doin this from memory last year but i thought it went something like)

Prematch:
Congrats

Waitlisted:
Under Review or some kind of Reviewed

More than likely Rejection:
Your app has been reviewed + any decisions will be sent via us mail

I don't wanna hassle them if someone already called/emailed them this question.

As far as I can tell no school will release that information, I do however know that some people have declined their prematch offers from TCOM and when we received our letter of acceptance we had to turn in whether we accepted the offer or declined and mailed back postmarked no later the Dec. 2nd. Im sure they will give out a few more prematch offers (last year's thread shows them to give more on Dec. 23rd.) once they get all the pre-matched applicants decisions back in the mail. I know it sucks to wait to hear something but I wouldn't be imposing unnecessary questions about acceptances on an admissions office that I'm sure is stressing as much as us. Also it is good to notice that TCOM pulled off the waitlist last year so there is always a possibility till the first day of classes start. TCOM is a great school, try to hang in there. Goodluck
 
Patiently Waiting. I was very impressed during interview. Just yesterday I was talking to a friend of mine who was in town for a few months who was bummed that TRICARE wouldn't pay for a chiropractor. I told him to find an Osteopath! (see, I'm already a good ambassador for the field!)

Well, the last day of school before Xmas is Fri 12/16.. I bet that's when Caroline starts making her phone calls, or even a day earlier!!!

It looks like last year they ended on the 17th and still didn't call until the 23rd. This year they end on the 16th so I'll be waiting by the phone on the 22nd. I interviewed there 12/1 and they said that the interview evaluations would be done by the end of the following week (12/9) and the committee would evaluate everything by the end of this week (12/16). They didn't say they would necessarily wait until the 22nd but I think they like to make the call on the last administrative day before Christmas which I think is the 22nd this year.
 
I was thinking along those same lines...an acceptance will be the best Christmas gift for me!
 
Just got the call from TCOM 30 minutes ago with a pre-match offer!!!!!

So it looks like the second round of pre-match offers has begun.

There are two days set aside for welcome/pre-orientation, in late February and early April. April is the bigger event when the real estate brokers have bus tours - and free food at every stop - for incoming students and their parents. Where you live depends on the size of your wallet. Most 1st years live within ten minutes of campus.

Congrats to everyone that got a pre-match so far. Quick question, apparently TCOM called my parent's house today around 4 but did not leave a message. My status didn't change online so I'm not sure what it would be about...Just wanted to know if anyone so far missed the prematch call initially and whether they leave a voicemail or call you back. I plan on calling them back in the morning but I am just curious and can't sleep. Thanks!

I interviewed on 17 Nov. I felt good about the interview, but was nervous, since that was the first of my interviews.

As for my stats, I'm pretty non-traditional. graduated in 1990 from college, and am about to retire with 20 years in the USAF.

My undergrad work back then was unremarkable, but I've done well with A's in all the prereq courses I've been taking (except for a B in orgo 2) MCAT was 33M.

Wow you sound like an amazing candidate! My interview was around your time too but my MCAT was not close to that, that is in my opinion the only weak point on my whole application, and it's a weak one.

I never got a call- just an email and then letter in the mail, my status hasn't changed either 🙂

Thanks, I really lucked out on the MCAT score...I guess it was my "Slumdog Millionare" moment!

From all I've seen, don't worry about the prematch, there is still the match, and this school historically pulls from it's waitlist!

Hope to see you this summer!
 
School is still open for business, so it ain't over yet. Hope Santa hands out some more presents! 🙂
 
Do you guys think it's too late to send a letter of interest for an interview? Are interviews pretty much done?
 
Did anyone recieve a prematch offer today? Last week when I called the office they said they would be sending them out yesterday or today.

It seems some of the schools were supposed to have pre-matches out by today, but no one posted about it. I was thinking the offices would be closed until the new year, but prematch season might still have a few more days. If anyone gets a prematch make sure and update us!

Just a FYI, but TCOM's website says the administration offices will be closed til after the new year.
