YES, my interview will be on Nov. 16... and I still have received my confirmation... maybe I will call them on Monday...

Hey guys~!
For those that already interviewed, did you guys make the first tier? or second?
I made the second tier and haven't got anything expt for the evaluation of chk list indicating that everything's complete (I recieved it yesterday). Should I be freakin' out as I already am? So, what happens if you don't get an interview letter..does that mean that I'll most likely be rejected?🙁

i thikn tier 2 people are just getting thier pchk dates...my application completed date is august 24...so towards the end fo tier 2 and havent recieved a pchk...my guess is that theyre going to start sending out tier 2 interviews early to mid november.

when was your app completed?

I'm pretty sure everyone there was first tier. Don't stress out at all, UOP is just really busy this time of the year. I received an invitation about 1-2 weeks after I received the course checklist evaluation. You should probably hear from them in the next 2 weeks.

It says the file complete day was Aug. 24th.
Let me know if u hear anything. I'll do the same!

I believe that UOP is about 14k a semester which equals to 43k for one year. However, the entire program is 8 semesters which amounts to 112k. USC & Western are 35k+ a year for 4 years. If I'm not mistaken UOP is cheaper.

You forgot dorming which is another 13k on campus. Holy crap.... that's about $1,100 living in Brookside. Living off campus will save you tons right there.

congrats!...when is yoru "file completed" date?
 
My File Complete date is 8/31 because I am in Tier 2. PCHK is 10/19, PINT is blank.
 
sigh... my date was 8/22 and everything is still blank...T-T

My app completion date was 8/1 and my PCHK was just completed on 10/19....I live out of state, so maybe that delayed the process a bit?? Anyway, I'm sooooo hoping to hear something soon.

For all of you with interviews, were you notified via snail mail or email?
 
Calm down everyone 😀

Please keep in mind that I live about 100 miles from UOP. Also, I just received the interview invitation today, so you Tier 2 people with PCHKs may receive your invites soon 🙂
 
i still don't even have a pchk date when i check online 🙁 application complete on 8/31..i am worried

goinkhead and leinlaa...since we're both in the same situation...what are your stats. perhaps they choose first from those with higher stats?
 
that's prob what it is... ah well, i thought i'd try, u kno? better than regretting and wondering if maybe i would've gotten in... anyways, my stats are not that great...

Tier 2:
1) 3.15 Cum., 2.98 Sci. PharmCAS
2) pharmacy volunteer at hospital and at private retail for about 7 months at each
3) Not sure about recs because confidential, but pretty sure they're positive
4) Some extracurricular
 
ok so far sound like my stats...hmm let's see what geinko says. well i am sure we'll get contacted eventually, they're probably just going through a procedure. wishful thinking 🙂

I got my interview letter today =D It is a scary letter to read though! It doesn't say "HEY YOU GOT AN INTERVIEW" at the top. It talks about how qualified the applicants are and how they got so many applications made which me think I was rejected.

File complete date says 9/1, pchk is 10/20

please list your stats? and when did you noticed the pchk date? i'm asking because my file was completed on 9/1 as well but pchk is blank. Thanks 🙂
 
I just got my PINT today. Does it matter when you do the interview? I heard they make all decisions in march and it's not rolling. Not sure though.

3.57 gpa (pharmcas)
90 pcat (which uop doesn't require i believe)
some volunteer experience in pharmacy
no research
very limited EC's
BS in biology from ucsd

I don't know when my pchk date poppped up there. =) The first time I got my UOP ID was when I got my interview letter which was dated 10/29.
 
I really do not know what the pint date means. Does anyone know what that means. I heard the really strong applicants will get something letting them know their status for the fall 08 year. The rest of the students will hear something in March/April.

pint date = personal interview date, i believe.


yazzman, how did your interview go and did they say when they would notify you of your status?

That's what I'm thinking. My PINT is 10/26 and my interview was on 10/26. Makes sense. 🙂

At the interview, the asst Dean said that the admission committee would be going over the 10/26 interviewer files after a week (so, I'm thinking they'll start looking our files over on 11/5/07). He also said that everyone who interviewed on 10/26 should hear something by late November or early December. He said UOP is trying to work out an electronic delivery system (email I'm assuming), which would push this back a little. The asst Dean said that the pharmacy school was trying to talk UOP out of this electronic delivery system this year, because they still had bugs to work out.


I'm surprised that they said we should all hear from UOP by late November or early December. Does this mean that they are going to reject people this early? Or will the strong candidates be accepted, while everyone else who interviewed is placed on hold?

It's only been one week and I have 4-5 more weeks to go before I hear anything. 🙁

PINT i think stands for the paper they send you telling you of your INTerview. Although I could be wrong. Mine is still blank on the pacific website.
 
For those who are accepted, don't think about buying a new computer anytime soon. UOP makes their students buy their specific computer. They preprogram it with things, so I don't think you can get around it.

The interview went really good,but everyone I spoke to that day said the same thing. It is somewhat hard to figure out what they are looking for. Everyone at the interview appeared to be very intelligent and very strong applicants.

me too!! (i checked because you said you just got it 😛) mine says 10/30.. but i'm not sure how to feel about it. i think it just means they've looked at your app and are either inviting u for an interview or moving on to someone else. hope it's not the latter.. and no PINT date either (thought i wish there was!) Tier 2 btw, file complete 9/1 (barely made it! 😳)

What? So you made it to the second tier and got the interview letter? Is it for University of Pacific in Stockton, California? I thought they just sent out the PCHK. Are you sure you applied during second tier? not first?😱

How did your PCHK look like? Mine was just a piece of paper with a chk list, and most of my info was handwritten. There wasn't any letters attached; it just said to contact the office if there was any change in plans. It actually seemed pretty sloppy. UGH~ I'm so worried..
 
😕I've already recieved the PCHK with a ID#, but why can't I check my status online? I get a: "no admission application for the semester you selected has been received by the Admission Office," when I select fall 2008 admission. Should I contact UOP? Did this happen to any other UOP applicants?

The invitation was sent by mail, and is dated September 19th. I received it on the 22nd. I called them on Monday (yesterday) to schedule an interview. At first they offered me an October 26th date, but I have a prior obligation that day so they switched me to November 2nd.

As far as other stats... I volunteered in three pharmacies my senior year (but had no experience before that, that's why i had to cram it in...). I was in a pre-pharmacy club. I played intramural basketball. I also have a couple semesters of research experience, and some volunteer work with an Oakland tutoring group. Those are the main activities. I think I had pretty good letters of rec, too.

Anyway, good luck to everyone else. Hopefully you get the same day and I can bum a ride! 😛

I was wondering if you checked your application status on-line? If so, when you first received a date on the PCHK, how long did it take for you to receive a date on the PINT? Thank you, your help is greatly appreciated!

I think it went well, but there were soooooo many good applicants. I dont know how they will pick individuals....Somewhat scary

Not sure if i am understanding what they told you but i know u DO NOT have to have pharmacy experience to get an interview. I have over two years but a buddy of mine has none, just hospital experience and he got an interview. Good luck!

Hey all of you UoP applicants. I sent in my supplemental app to UoP approx 2 days before the tier 2 deadline (if you were wondering) and scheduled an interview last week when I recieved my letter. They first offered me January 11th, but I asked for an in-state interview (I live in Hawaii). I later changed my mind, but the 11th was already full. They were really nice about it and my new interview date is on January 18th.
 
Yes, most Tier 2 applicants are getting interviewed in January.
 
I'm tier 3 🙁 My letter writers lagged...so i guess i got a looooonnnnnngggg wait until I hear anything...

I am a tier 3 as well (my application was completed 9/11) and I just received my letter today stating that my pre-requisites/checklist is complete...now I just have to wait for that darn interview letter!!! 😀
