Should I update a school that I have an interview coming up or should I wait in case I get waitlisted?
KosmoKramer said:Um, I wouldn't ever have told a school that you are interviewing somewhere else. They know that you are interviewing already, and if you go out of your way to let them know that, they may think that you are not interested, or at least confuse them. If you want to get into a certain program, I suggest you send a follow up letter saying that you intend to go to their school as they are your number one choice for these reasons: have a short precise and concise statement about the program, the people, the patient population, and or the location that would make you go there and why you are perfect for the program. I don't really know effective this is, but I got into the schools I was waitlisted for after I did this. And don't worry if you get waitlisted, have hope, cuz most of my friends and I were waitlisted before we eventually got in. Of course there are your friends who get into UMich, Hopkins, Harvard, etc in September a day after their interview, but a good number of us got in on the waitlist. Good luck.
