I have two letters of rec. 1 science and 1 non-science, each written 2 years ago from a professor that i had 2 years ago and another 3 years ago. Should I update those letters of rec. or not? It seems a hassle to track them down but I just wanted insight on it.....

I think more recent ones are better, 2 years seems like a long time. However two of my lor's are almost a year old and I am not going back to update them.

Since you took those classes 2-3 years ago, the LORs written during that time makes sense. I don't think you need to update your LORs. If your professors still remember you and are willing to update it, you may want to do that. It only benefits you, no hurt.

what about doctors? I worked in an ER and got a LOR from my old ER doc. and when apply it will be two years old. You think it will slide?

It wouldn't hurt, but as long as the letter is strong you might not have to.
