UPenn Class of 2025 Interview/Acceptance Thread

My friend got the call today! She wants to know if anyone else did and if they got any scholarships?
I got accepted the same day with a dean's scholarship!

Does anyone know if Penn accepts P/F grading for this semester? Even though the acceptance letter says to get a C or higher?

When I called them they said they would accept P/F but I had asked specifically for a non pre-req class I would give them a call.

For those of us that interviewed in Jan and haven’t been accepted, does that mean we've been rejected? Has anyone that's interviewed in Jan been rejected?

Just emailed them to find out about application status and learned I am waitlisted - I interviewed 1/29

anyone know if UPenn waitlist moves much or how many people they put on it?

Hi guys, I interviewed on Jan 28. Any general trend on when people hear back after their interview?

I interviewed in November but still haven't heard anything.. I emailed them a couple weeks back and they said they were still reviewing my app. Would you guys email again? I don't want to be annoying but I am wondering if I will hear back before paying a deposit elsewhere

I'm in the same boat! I'm not sure if it's a good or a bad thing that we haven't been waitlisted.

Saw someone on Dat boot camp say they called the admissions office and was told they’re done interviewing. Hopefully we’ll hear back soon!
My interview is this Friday, so they may be done sending out interviews but their not done interviewing!

The last interview of the cycle is next Friday (3/5). I believe after that, the class will be pretty much full.

For those that received a rejection. Did you get a letter in the mail or an email? I never received an email, but I got a letter in the mail so I'm just curious.

Interview #8:

AA: 22, TS: 22
OGPA: 3.84, SGPA: 3.7
OOS resident (NY)
Submit AADSAS app in first week of it opening for submission
took DAT August 16th, got it verified Sept 4th
Received invite for interview on Mar 2nd by email at 1 pm EST
Planning to interview virtually Friday (offered date once I called office, got email confirmation shortly after confirming)

Interviewed today and they said they'd give us a decision at the end of March. I think once the 2nd deposit deadline goes u guys who interviewed earlier will likely hear back soon

Anyone know how full the class is? Seeing what chance of waitlisters have. I called and the admissions lady said some years they take waitlisters some years not 😔. I think I just about had a mini heart attack right then

It's definitely getting there considering the last interview was on the 5th, class is usually pretty much set in stone by the end of March, but best of luck to you!! Some people drop their spots really spot and waitlisted applicants are accepted!

I know of one particular story where a waitlisted student was added to the class 1 week before orientation!

Could any current students tell me a little about how their classes work and like how stressful the environment is? How do yall go about studying for those massive integrated exams?

The curriculum is integrated so our "courses" are more or less like 3 subjects integrated into one course but broken up into separate modules. Each module has their own respective exam and those grades contribute to your grade in the overall course. Normally you get lectures from about 3-4 (sometimes more) courses during a given block of the semester and take an integrated exam every 3ish weeks. Integrated exams normally are 3 exams for 3 different courses all on one day. I'd say overall it's mostly stressful when the exams are approaching and everyone is trying to get all the material down. Each respective module exam is pretty much like a final exam since no exams are ever really cumulative for the overarching course, so it gets to be overwhelming during certain blocks where they've grouped 2-3 difficult courses into one integrated exam. I'd say for the most part they try their best to pair really work-intensive courses with some that may be a little less science heavy, but that's not always the case. Everyone studies for the integrated exams differently so it really is just about finding what works best for you.

im a d2.
so the integrated exams are kind of a beast [i remember counting the slides i had to memorize for one set and its was like 1300]. when covid dies off and we are back in person, there was talk it would revert back to weekly exams for the incoming class and d1s - who knows whats true Admin is all over the place ...
but if you have integrated exams, the best thing is the study little by little every day. i dont take my own advice and jam it all within a week. but its whatever you are comfortable with and i am used to doing all nighters days b4 exams.

You do have to keep on your toes. Its very easy to drop the ball when you have multiple exams stacked. And there isnt anything to buffer your grade besides exams.

Before exams everyone is stressed. but the day when its gets done, ppl take the day off and do something fun for the weekend.

Waitlisted today... anyone know the chances of getting off the waitlist if I have really good grades this semester?

I don’t think grades affect the waitlist too much now, from the groupme it looks like the class is full. I think waitlist movement may be based on if anyone withdraws.

Do you know when the second deposit date is this year / the day when you can no longer hold spots at two dental schools?

Edit: April 1 is when the second deposit is due
March 1 is when schools can see you holding multiple spots and ask you to make a decision.
