this sucks i was away from my comp for maybe 10 minutes and now i have to wait longer. this sucks so fu<king much.

no true window of when to expect the site to be up again?

Very few of us actually got into the window... I think it was like 3 freaking minutes or something. It's okay though, I was busy preparing my delectable healthy choice microwaveable lunch...
 
no, the lady was all rushed and didnt want to talk...i am SO pissed. somebody else should call and get more details. she just said an email would be sent later?? what the *ell is that supposed to mean?🙁

its ridiculously stupid that they are trying to update the website (as in revamp it, according to what durden said, it has a new look) and give decisions at the same time.

they could totally update the website tomorrow and just give us decisions right now. stupid IT people.

Wayne State had a great system where you just called in on a specified day and the secretary just told you. Or Umich was great with getting their emails out a little after midnight.

They aren't totally revamping it -- they just changed the font size on the error message. To actually revamp the entire site would be stupid beyond belief and I doubt they'd do that.

edit: other schools great for admissions include NYU and Columbia. Except Columbia sent me a fat packet to say I was waitlisted. Way to be sensitive, guys.

After you log on the stuff does look different. Not necessarily different, just better.
 
I'm just glad I got in during the 3-minute window so I could claim my spot at the top of the waitlist ahead of all you. Booyah!

Well consider Penn stupid beyong belief. There's pictures, colors, FAQ (well for us waitlisters), and a status tracker for financial aid. Problem is, you have to get past the portal.
 
Sheesh. I missed the window too. Oh well, I'm sure I got waitlisted, tier 2. 🙁

Maybe they just wanted to make it pretty for the lucky few who are accepted...
 
Maybe they're installing new servers too. There isn't anyone waiting to use the site or anything.
 
Seriously, I think we could probably survive another couple of hours after waiting for however many months we've already lived through🙂

so most people who got through were waitlisted tier-1, and a few were accepted?

im not sure if I should try to read into any of this...

Hmm. I take it back then. Well, rather, I don't. It is incredible stupid to do a site update when users are waiting for something. Apparently a guy who runs a departmental website for a tiny college (aka, me) knows more about these things than the IT department of Penn. Ah well. They can do whatever the diablo they want if they let me in 😀

No reading in Stolen. Just try not to think about it. Yes, I realize this is like trying not to think about a dog that has latched onto your leg, but we have to try, as there's nothing we can do.

so question about the Tier 1-- do they specifically tell you if you are "TOP OF TIER 1" or all tier 1 folks just get the basic "tier 1" message? also, what is the chances of acceptance from tier 1 again? (i forget what someone said)

Waitlist T1 here, too! First Cornell, now Penn. And here I was, naive enough to think that the long, long process of waiting would be over by March.

I know, I'm lucky to have good acceptances anyway. It's ok, reject me, Cornell and Penn. I'll understand.

Is everyone's decision posted in size 36 font, or only those rejected. My officemate and I just laughed for a min straight at my message (didn't interview, so wasn't expecting anything)

website live again - waitlist tier 1 - anyone know specifically what the order is of decisions? is there a "priority" or "top of tier 1" list thingy?
 
Ha, Waitlist Tier 1 is big, bold, and red.

My waitlist message is "The Committee on Admissions has a continuing interest in your application and we hope you remain interested in Penn." I.e., do not pass go, do not collect $200.
 
Has anyone gotten a top of tier 1 or a tier 2 yet?
 
what does tier 1 mean? how many people are taken from the waitlist? when will we know by?

I was also waitlisted. According to the FAQ on the page, there are about 400 (?!) people on the waitlist now, which will apparently dwindle down to 100. Also, there are 2 tiers, and they are unranked.

Does anyone else think that Tier1 sounds like, I don't know..., a furniture store?
