Hello, I went to a UC for my undergrad and took their physics series in 3 parts. Currently I am enrolled at a CC retaking one of the classes. I have just recently come to find out that the class that I signed up for was for engineering students and is heavily calculus based, whereas another course that they offer is for "biology" students. I took the first one because it was split into three sections like the quarter system and the description fit exactly like the third leg of the physics series at my UC. Now it is pass the drop date and I am afraid that I am going to do poorly in this class and not show improvement with it. Is it ideal to try and stick with it in the hopes that I get a B (which would be an improvement over my C+) or try and drop with a W on my transcript?

I haven't taken Calculus since an AP class in high school, and I can freely admit I would do downright awful in a calc-based physics. Take the W and make sure you read the course descriptions in the future.

I tend to agree with ManBroDude. On the other hand, know when your school's withdraw deadline is. Stick it out until then and then see how you're doing. You'll get a W either way, but if you're doing well in the class by the W date, you might get to stick with it.

I don't know how good it will look to get a W for a retake. I ay just bust your butt and study as many hours as possible everyday to get a higher then C+ grade.
