Hi I am a us md stduent who is applying IM. little dissapointed with recent step 2 score of 241. No major red flags avg ECS 1 publciation and another manuscript submitted. What are my chances for an academic IM program. Any similar match stories?

You won't have issues matching into an academic program. I can guarantee that. Back in my day, 240 was the magic cutoff where you could say your score was competitive unless things have changed. Now, your shot at getting to Brigham or UCSF with that profile are probably on the lower side. But just apply broadly with enough target type programs and you'll be OK.
