Hi,

For those who get invited for interview in January 26th, when did you submit your PharmCAS and supplemental? USC received my PharmCAS around 10/24 and my supplemental on 10/12. So far, I have only received my lack letter😕. Thanks!

I sent my supplemental around the same time you did, but I sent my pharmCAS in late July.
I hope that helps

I have an interview for the 26th at 10:25!

My pharmcas was mailed on 11/12 (e-submitted 10/19) and I submitted my supplemental on 10/21.

I'm so excited!!!!

Got 9:40 invite....I dropped my pharmcas (8/29) supp. (8/30) and LORs midsummer. My gpa is low but I have military experience and applied last year. Round Two!

I have a 9:40 interview as well...see you guys there

how's everyone finding out today...i thought mail doesn't come on sundays at most places

does USC send an email telling you they recieved your pharmcas? I havent received anything form them and I know pharmcas sent mine out already.

i interview on jan 26th...and i got a letter by snail mail today

pharmcas cGPA: 3.08
pharmcas sGPA: 3.47

Congrats nerv12345! I have the similar science GPA as you and I haven't gotten anything from USC yet. You weren't a prepharm at USC, right?
Did you take the PCAT? How's your background or past experiences, if you don't mind me asking?

Yeah. They e-mailed me. Try giving them a call.

thanks! i don't attend USC for undergrad...i took the PCAT and i got a score in the high 70's but my chem was 93 and bio was 90
i have a few years (5+) worth of volunteering at my temple and i have 6 months of pharmacy work experience and around 55 hours of pharmacy shadowing (this was before i got a job at a pharmacy)

i'm pretty sure my bio professor wrote me a very strong LOR...she's known to write strong ones for students she likes (and she loved me! haha)

Thanx for sharing your info.
I guess I should have taken the PCAT. I thought it didn't matter for pharmacy schools in California.

Did everybody who got an interview take the PCAT?

I took the PCAT and got an interview. 26Jan. The website said it wasn't required but was favorably viewed, so I thought I should.

3.5 GPA. Science and cum.

I did NOT take the pcat and i received an interview for Jan 26th at 9:40

3.7 cumm
3.6 prepharm

3 years research lab
3 years hospital volunteer program

no experience in retail pharmacy or pharmacy shadowing

PCAT is not required but USC will consider it very favorable if you take the test and do well. If you have a low GPA and desire to go to USC, I would definitely take the PCAT. Besides that, having a low GPA mean you should apply out of state schools that require PCAT, so it all works out.

i have an interview for jan. 26 at 11:00am.

I got in without PCAT.
3.49 cGPA, 3.59 sGPA. Applied last week of October 2006 (after ED was deferred)

do you have any interview advice for us? 😀

Yeah, stay calm. (Easier said than done, I know)
What weaknesses do you see in pharmacy today?
What could you do to change them?
Why did you apply to USC? (show enthusiasm, and keep it real)
All these should be in interview feedback.

Should we bring CV's to interviews??

i don't think you need them, at least i didn't for the interview back in Nov. the CV should already be uploaded into the supplemental app. i think this year it's an open file since they didn't require the interviewees to submit an essay about themselves, they'll prolly ask you questions on your supplemental essays that you've written...but i guess it couldn't hurt to bring it as a security blanket 🙂...good luck to y'all in the jan. interviews

Short answer, no.

Longer answer:
All the info they're going to get from you they'll want to get verbally. By the time they see you they'll have read your supplemental essay. They've got a set of questions to guide the interview. A CV would really only get in the way.

lol if i got an interview w/ a 3.08 cGPA, you have a pretty good chance of getting one too

so curious when looking at your cGPA. Maybe you have real high sciene GPA, a lot of volunteer, something outstanding...Would you please share??

Letters came today (exactly 4 weeks after my interview).

It says, 55/150 got in.
95 (including myself) have been put under active consideration.

SO now we have to wait 5-6 months to find out whether we get in or not... May is a long time from now.

Congrats on making above the cut-list. Hopefully you'll get pulled from active consideration before all the interviews are done (it happens).

Those stats imply that no one received a rejection letter. That's comforting, haha! I also interviewed in November, but I haven't received any notification regarding my status yet. Perhaps Moday...

I Got In!!

Look for a big yellow envelope! They sent out the letters yesterday (12/7).

For those who received their letters today, where do you guys live? thanks!

I live about 40 miles from the school and got my big yellow envelope today! Good luck everyone!

What was your guys science and overall gpa? if you don't mind me asking

I got in!!! 🙂
If the acceptance letter came yesterday, I wouldn't have gone to Western this morning for the 4 hours long interview.

Sci GPA: 3.72
Overall GPA: 3.7

i'm in active consideration.ugh! I feel lowsy..I thought my interview went well, but i guess it's because i have a lot of work in progress and my BA. In the letter it says that everyone in active consideration gets their application re-reviewed after the last interview, which is march 29,2008. I think i wil go crazy until then. Does any one know if the first round interviewers are ranked higher than thos in the proceeding interviews?

Congrats to those that got accepted!

Actually i heard people in active consideration may get in before. I dont know what their system is... but i guess they should expect a stream of phone calls by next monday. Im in active consideration too. The fact that everyone who was not accepted is in the same situation doesnt make me feel any better... why cant they just tell me whether they dont want us or not? like already have a cut off line for who stays in active consid.?

i would congratulate everyone who got accepted, but im too bumbed to do so right now. I'll actively considerer congratulating you guys tomorrow.

did anyone who got in think that they bombed their interview???

how did the interviews go for you guys that got in? good? relaxed? comfortable? or were you all nervous!!??

Congrats to those that got in! :hardy: I wish I was lucky enough to get an acceptance letter from USC today. I live 10 miles from the school and I still didn't receive anything. This stresses me out.
Do you think they mailed all the letters yesterday? I hope my mailwoman didn't put my mail in someone else's box. I'm getting paranoid.

I thought the interview went okay for me since the interviewers were very friendly, but from talking to other applicants, it seemed like all the interviewers were very nice. I did the talking most of the time, I don't know if that's a good thing, but that was just because I wanted to show them how much I want to go to that school (its my top choice). I was very nervous at first and I actually blanked out for 5 seconds but the professor just smiled and said it was okay. So I guess the interview went okay.

My Stats:
PharmCAS Overall: 3.87
PharmCAS Science: 3.82
UCLA Biochem, BS expected in June

i got in!! :hardy: :hardy: :hardy: go class of 2012!!

i live about 20 miles away.
