Efren - what was your interview date? and what was your interview time on that date?

My interview date was on 1/24 and my time was at 9:00 AM. Although it is strange they notified me in email first it basically says

"Congratulations to your Admission! Letter to come.
Xin"

OMGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG

I GOT MY RED ACCEPTANCE envelope just now!!!! (through snail mail)

People who didn't get acceptance through email yet, keep your hopes up!, you can still get the good news. (I didn't get an acceptance email from USC)

I'm so happy I was trembling as I told my parents the good news over the phone!:laugh::laugh::laugh:

EDIT: and YES, USC was my first choice despite the tuition. I'm in bliss right now because I only applied to 4 schools, and interviewed at 3. (canceled Western interview because I can't satisfy their requirements). I was put on hold for UOP (those *****), and my UCSD interview didn't go too well, in my opinion. So USC really was my last hope!!!

THANK GOD

are you living in So Cal or Nor Cal? congratulations!

i wonder when the November AC's get their status update. I've been dying to know for three freakin' months now.

Status updates? Like those who were put on waitlist? THose probably won't be mentioned until the interview sessions are complete. Like the "more info" regarding orientation? Again, these probably won't be sent out until all decisions are made.

On last year's thread people on AC were notified after each interview with another AC letter, a rejection, or an acceptance...most likely the first two. 🙁

I was wondering if there is any international student applying for USC pharmacy. I thought USC is a well known private school that welcomes international students, but apparently it is the opposite from what i was told after I spoke to the director of admission. I wonder if anybody else is in a similar situation or know anything about this. 🙁

I know! I'm getting anxious again! I think we should be getting an update the same time as everyone from the January interview date.

My overall gpa is 3.81 and science/math is 3.91. Did not take the PCAT and about 2 years working in a independent retail pharmacy. I just checked the mail today and I received my official acceptance letter from USC! 👍 The envelope was postmarked on 2/13 friday.

Congratulations. I am so scared now. I don't know what kinds of envelop is waiting for me. :scared:

Congratulations to everyone who has been accepted!🙂 And I wish tons of luck to the others who are still waiting.:xf: It seems to me that usc really cares about the gpa for this incoming class, or maybe it's just the ones who has high gpa that post their stats.

Calling all AC folks! I just called the admissions office and they said they are in the process of updating AC statuses and we can expect the results next week if not this week. :scared:

As for the gpa thing... I was starting to believe that they mostly want high gpa applicants too, but it seems that some <3.6 candidates were accepted back in November. And if it is true then I guess I don't stand a chance anymore.

What is AC stands for?

Thanks for the info! I know how you feel, I think that the main reason why I was put on the AC list was because of my gpa 👎

I somewhat agree with the GPA comments because it seems like a majority from people who have been accepted already (60-80% if I had to guess) had over a ~3.7 GPA. It means that the trend is that applicants are having higher grades than before..

This wait is killing me..

ACCEPTED !!! ZOMG!!! the mailman came 5 minutes ago!!! I have been waiting for this moment FOREVER !!!!
wow this is unreal, feels like a dream

Is it because you have high GPA or you rock on the interview day?

I have a decent gpa (3.59) and got placed in AC in November. Guess my interview score was low or something.

Congrat, are you in socal?

I am wondering anybody from norcal receive the USC acceptance letter?

I am in Norcal (fremont), as for my GPA, i have a 3.86 overall and 3.90ish science/math, and my interview was OK, didn't do great, but it was OK.

I find it somewhat strange that only a few people have posted about receiving acceptance letters...both emailed and mailed.

Called the SOP today and they said that nothing has been mailed out to anyone (both recent interviewees and AC folks from Nov). They project that it will happen later this week or early next week.

😕

Got an e-mail from USC today...but it was about the Financial Aid deadlines...Boo!

Still waiting...🙄

U meant you called the USC admission? They didn't send out any acceptance either by mail or email?
Some people got their by mail and emails.
I am in norcal (close to Fremont City), nothing from mail and email yet... so worried now....:scared::scared: I also got an email from USC about Finacial Aid info

yes - i called usc admissions. according to them, nothing has been sent out to anyone and won't be until later this week or early next week.

This is weird. How do you explain those acceptance letters posted above?

Yeah, when I called them they said the same thing too about not sending anything until the end of this week or next week. I thought it was strange too! oh well, congrats!

😕 yeah...that's pretty strange.

About the GPA thing....I think USC also heavily weighs in GPA of past 2 years. I only had a 3.6 overall GPA.....but I had near 4.0 GPA the past 2 years. My interview wasn't spectacular and my pharmacy experience is pretty little....so it must have been the GPA of past 2 years that really helped me.

Anyways, good luck and don't give up guys and gals!

Hmmm... I am so confused and so scared now...

First, USC notified one of the acceptees via e-mail and sent him/her the letter of acceptance the same day. That was something new..

Second, some SDN members called up the office of admissions today, asking for the results. And, they said that the mails won't be sent until later this week or next week. But some people have gotten their acceptance letters. THAT IS SO SO SO STRANGE!! 😕😕😕

Third, GPA seems to be the main factor for acceptance.

Oh, no... I am just so worried...

I spent my whole day today, checking e-mail, calling my parents to check our mailbox every 30 minutes, and refreshing this website every 5 minutes... This endless waiting is just driving me nuts....

Now. I have no idea what is going on. I'm in NorCal and haven't heard anything.

I called the admission office today to ask a question about my acceptance, when Xin pulled up my file she confirmed with me that I am officially accepted....so..i don't know...maybe they thought you meant for those AC people?

yeah...that what exactly happened to me on Friday when i heard someone got the acceptance EMAIL. Keep your hopes high though, I didn't get any email about my acceptance. Good Luck.

That's really weird, but then again not that many other people have been posting about emails and letters.

Hey almondtea,
I see that you've been accepted but is USC your first choice?

So far only 2 person received acceptance by mail and email in this thread. Hope that some good news will come this afternoon. Keep your fingers cross

has USC rejected anyone yet? I'm trying to comprehend what time frame they're working on. it seems they don't reject anyone, they just don't send any correspondence.

I just spoke with a USC admissions representative and he said that all the letters, including acceptance and active consideration, for the January interview were mailed out on last Friday, Feb. 13th.

did he say anything about those on AC from the Nov interview by any chance?

Honestly, from what I have deduced by reading these posts and interacting w/ people who have applied to USC, USC weighs heavily on gpa. You can have a "decent" interview but if your gpa is high (over 3.5 i presume), then you need not worry : you should get in. If you have a lower gpa like me, you already have a strike against you. You have to ACE your interview in order to just be considered as a competitive applicant. It sucks. But that life - it's not fair.

There is HOPE!! I was on AC from the November interview session and just received my admission letter!!

OMGosh, CONGRATULATIONS!! That is such great news! You must be on cloud 9 right now 🙂)

USC is my first choice so I'm super nervous right now! But I think my interview went really badly, plus my GPA is not the best, so I'm not super confident 🙁(

But congrats again!!

3.5 is a pretty low threshold to just let in. I'd be severely disappointed to know that's all it took. Not to say anything about students under AC but I would like my acceptance and application process to mean something. I can understand that high gpa's may have relatively better resumes but to let all in who pass the "proficiency in communications" test sucks.
