I just called. They said letters are going out at the end of the day today. Hopefully we are all included in this batch. That means maybe tomorrow or Monday for us locals.
hey yogos, did you get that response form via e-mail yet? i also called and they said it would be sent in "a couple of days" ... maybe i'm too impatient!
anywaaay, the letter said that the alternate list was unranked. does anyone know what this means exactly? they can't possibly review everyone again for every new open spot, can they?

Hey,
yeah, I just got the e-mail yesterday (12/15). We have to send it back within 10 days of receiving the e-mail. Yeah, i really have no idea what unranked means and how they will pick people off the alternate list. best wishes though.
nothing here yet, but my mail doesnt come until like 3pm. I really hope there is something in there for me. I am getting sick of waiting.

it feels like the mail will never come 
also, my mail man frequently delivers my mail to the neighbors (i think he does it for fun) so that multiplies the stress of this wait by at least 10

Maybe, they didn't finish on Friday and they sent them today? When I called the lady sounded like there was a small possibility that they wouldn't get them out, and in that case they would be sent out early this week.

I called today. The lady said that a batch of letters were sent at the end of last week. I mentioned that I was local and she said to call on Friday if I still haven't heard anything.
I guess we should know before Christmas!

Okay, I just called and they said that they has sent me my letter on Dec. 6th. They couldn't give me any more information, however. So it sounds like early Nov. decisions have been made and mailed. I interviewed on Nov. 9th. Good luck everyone. I'll let you know what happens when I get my letter (they are remailing it soon).
wait...2 weeks ago? that is odd...why would it take so long to get there?

She said something abt a central mail clearinghouse that they send the letters to. I don't know. She seemed to think that it takes a long time for the letters to just leave USC. But maybe they lost our letters? I also wouldnt be surprised if my school's post office lost my letter. I would call if I were you to see if you have a letter in the mail. I gave them an alternate address to send the new letter to now because I'm home for break. She wouldn't tell me anything over the phone, though. Good luck! If you call, let us know what she says!
ok I called and the lady said my letter was sent last Friday. I was interviewed on Oct. 31st so mine might be mailed a little bit earlier than yours. I guess i'll get my letter today or tomorrow.

i just called too. the lady told me my letter was sent on the 14th (last friday). she also said that it probably didnt leave the office until monday soooo i maybe it will be here this afternoon...but i bet it wont be here. i need to go surf to take my mind off of things i am going nuts.

i interviewed on october 31st and she said that my letter went out friday
so i guess they mailed it out a little over the 6 week mark, but the real slow poke is the post office.

did you interview at nymc about a month ago? there was a girl that said she interviewed at USC on halloween.
so...still not here in socal. i just dont get it. maybe the postal system is bogged down because of xmas?
at this rate, i guess i won't be receiving it this week since i live on the east coast 😡

thought i'd share-- i called today, interview was on nov 7 and they told me a decision hasn't been made and no letter mailed.
I live in LA and I received my acceptance in the mail today 
. I interviewed in the first half of November. Waiting sucks, so I hope you guys get good news very soon

I interviewed October 30 and finally got my letter today. It was weird though because when I called last week they said that my letter had been mailed out on December 7, but I did not receive it until today, so something must be up with their mailing department. The envelop was actually postmarked for December 19 and I'm local (10 miles away) so got it today and got an ACCEPTANCE!! It was really nerve wrecking cuz it came in a small envelop. Good luck to everyone else! Be patient, it'll eventually come in the mail!

I think the reason it took so long was because each building or department at a big school like USC has to initially send their mail to a central place where the USPS will then pick it up. That's how it works at my school. Otherwise, the poor mailman would have to visit a 100 buildings every day to get all of the mail that comes in and out of USC. If there was a delay, it was probably due to this. That's my guess anyway. At least you guys know your letters are on the way! Good luck to everyone!

I bet you'll hear today. It shouldn't take any more than two days for mail to get from LA to get to SD. I actually asked my mail man about this when sending in UCSD's secondary, and he said it might take as little as one day, but two days is generally the rule. Good luck!

congrats to those with good news and good luck to those still waiting! for those of you who have received letters, what is the time frame they give you for replying to their acceptance or waitlist placement? I'm guessing two weeks? I had to leave town today without getting my mail and will be gone for at least two weeks, arrrggggh!

its ten days from receiving the mail. it doesn't really mention if they're refering to business days or if they're including weekends though. good luck!!!! hope its good news you'll hear.
