USC-Keck 2004 From Applicants to Students thread-hopefully

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
You are applying EDP to USC. This is prolly the most important question for you and you should know the answer to it.

i know the answer, but its a long answer. its only 250 words in the secondary and that is gona be nothing but a taste of the real deal. so how should i prioritize...location, research etc. what should i leave out for others???

hope u can help jalby

Sorry, but I can't help any applicants anymore. I'm involved in part of the admissions process. All I can say is that if you search my old posts you can find a lot of information. (Maybe not on this subject)

Jalby is God! Gintien is his slave!

Send your letters together. Likelihood is they'll figure out which meet the required option when they see Professor Yournamehere, PhD and their science department on their letter.

Good luck with apps.

Ok, thanks.

Anybody have an idea of how many extra letters would be appropriate?

Hey guys,

2 questions:

1) If your school has a premed commitee, that means no extra recs required? (they just seem to adamant wiht all that coversheet and status check stuff)

2) The question about your unique abilites? Probably sounds like a dumb questions, but is that essentially a reworded "what sets you apart from others" question? If not, is this where I list my superpowers? 🙂

Thanks in advance

Goose

i am having the same problem...unique qualities/abilities that add to the diversity of the class?!?!

1). I'm not sure. I guess you could always send in extras although I don't think the status screen will reflect it.

2). Pretty much, just talk about whatever you think is unique about yourself that would add some flavor/diversity to the class I guess. Something that maybe isn't in your application already and they might not know about you.

I just finished and submitted mine earlier today. I got kinda screwed over because I thought that two part question (A & B) was supposed to be 250 words together, not 250 words each (stupid worksheet doesn't exactly clarify this). So I had to add more to both parts before I sent it out.

go to more info part. its one of the options, and scroll down to the timeline.

by the way, anyone a little worried about the 30 hour non-science requirement??

i dunno...how does that translate into quarters?
