USC Pharmacy School

just out of curiosity, has anyone asked USC about California Education Code Section 94919 (http://law.onecle.com/california/education/94919.html), which essentially says that schools can't ask for a deposit greater than $250? USC asks for a deposit of $500.

I know there was a thread on it last year (http://forums.studentdoctor.net/showthread.php?t=916948), and one person said USC straight up told them no refunds at all. But I'm wondering if anyone else asked USC about it recently?

Got AC'd as well!
Does anyone know if they have a rank system for those on AC? And if they do, do they normally tell you your position in the waitlist?

I am pretty sure they have a rank system but they don't tell you where you rank unfortunately
 
I received an email today putting me on active consideration. I'm from the January interview.
 
Hmmm... that sucks though! Guess you have no way of realistically knowing your chances!
And does anyone know if USC looks at letters of interest?
 
AC'd again. I interviewed in Oct. Sigh, I was hoping to get in this round.

Ah Jan 26th interview date here and still nothing... 🙁
 
Anyone asked about the stats? # of ACs and # of acceptances given? 😳

This is done through Pharmcas acadamic update. I think the deadline has already passed if you are submitting Fall 2012 grades. Then again, you can always email/call USC admissions if they accept updated transcripts. Good luck!

Letter of Interest is a kind of letter you send to the institution expressing your eagerness and willingness to be accepted in their program. According to the past threads, they usually send these in during the later stages of selection when interview dates are over which is ~ Around May.
 
From what I understood in his post is an "Expression of Interest." This is when you are put in active consideration and sending this letter in speeds up the AdCom's decision about your application. I think that's what he meant because he is in AC status?

Woops EDIT: Don't send in an Expression of Interest until they ask for it.

Omg I got accepted yay!! Just received the email today
 
After not hearing anything from USC since I submitted the supplemental, I finally got a "Program Interest Request" email from them today. Basically their last interview is going to be on April 6th, and they want to know if you still want to be in consideration or if you've committed to another program. Haha I guess they know they're lagging.

Just got this one as well 😳 I think they just want to speed up the process but either way I want to attend USC xD

No, 🙁 I did not. I just got the interest to be considered email that you and JenJen got.
 
So it seems like everyone is getting that e-mail. Did anyone get a rejection letter from them?

I wonder how are we gonna get our rejection or interview invite then. Prolly next week.
 
Accepted! 🙂 For those who have yet to receive a notice, I called them today and they were quite surprised as well. So they told me I was accepted over the phone and said that they were experiencing a glitch in their system! (Apparently they had emailed me earlier and I didn't receive anything...) So for those who are still waiting, give them a call! 🙂

probably an Email. The email has march 4th deadline for responding. Perhaps soon after that

I don't really think about it anymore 😛 I'm focusing more on beefing up my app next cycle 😀

Ah that's good! Ah but I'm pretty sure you'll get the interview! 🙂! They've already looked over your application 🙂! It is my top choice haha. I didn't apply to many schools 🙁 which I should have for a better range.

I applied to UCSF (denied) and this is my only hope so far haha. I wasn't that serious on applying due to some issues. I'll be more confident next cycle though. Anyway, if I don't get in this year, I'll probably continue on my pharm tech experience and do more volunteering(I lack this). I also have some alternatives: Postbac clinical science training, masters, or just do nothing and have a vacation. 😛

I'm pretty sure most people already heard from their schools and put in their deposit. I think it is our advantage they send in the interest email. Less people = less competition. I really hope we both get interviews so we can see each other! Wooo /o/ LOL Look at me I only applied to two schools haha 😛 You are in better shape than I do and again good luck to us all 😀 haha Think like a proton 😉

Ah I see! That would be cool! I hope so too! 🙂 Let's hope for the best! Haha...I only applied one more school than you haha. I couldn't apply to too many 🙁 it was too expensive.

Hey, for those of you who received a thank you email response for the interview consideration, did you RESPOND back to the email you received? Or did you send an entirely new email expressing your interest in being considered?

I sent in an entirely new email expressing my interest since it stated to send it to the email addressed in the email.

Like yukira said, you have to send in the email to the address they stated which is [email protected]

If you click reply, it actually says [email protected] <-- SO DON'T DO THIS. 😛

/o/ I'm praying everyday for all of us to get interviewed and eventually admitted (well if it is your top choice) 😀

I hit the reply button and changed the e-mail address to the correct one.
 
I'm also on the same boat as you guys. I received the thank you letter as well. Do your letters just say "Thank you," ?

I also got a reply that just says Thank you... But it doesnt say anything like I am still in consideration. I also hope I get an interview. This is my last chance to stay in socal. >.<
