USCG medicine

Does anyone know much about Coast Guard medicine? I've searched SDN and Google (and the CG website) but didn't find much. Do they see Navy docs? If not, is a physician in the CG commissioned similar to Navy/Army/AF?

AD USCG are eligible for care as are other active duty military. They have had some USPHS physicians assigned to clinics at their larger activities. As you know, Coast Guard acticvities tend to be small in size with relatively few personnel. Their medical component is likewise small.
