Using abbreviations in secondaries?

I am currently pre-writing secondary essays for WVU, and their prompts have such low word counts! I am writing about my experience in the National Society of Leadership and Success (NSLS) and wanted to know if I could use the abbreviation to save space? In a previous question, I already wrote out the entire organization name followed by the abbreviation as I did above.

Would it be alright to assume the reviewer is reading each response and would see the abbreviation in the previous question?

I would use the full name the first time you mention it in each separate essay and abbreviate it thereafter. The reviewer may or may not get every part of your application, may have just forgotten the abbreviation by the time they get to the next essay, etc.
