Using old EK 101 verbal book for CARS

I'm using EK 101 passages for verbal 2nd edition. I'm mainly using it to have about an hour of practice a day for CARS (taking test in August) am I wasting time?

No, you are not wasting time! I did the same thing. Most verbal passages test the same thing in terms of critical thinking. So, use them to your benefit. I would recommend doing three per day. 🙂

I just bought the new one just because why not.. whatever changes they made had to be have been done with some intention/reasoning with the new exam in mind.

Awesome! Did you have success? My program suggests two hours a day. I'd rather burn through the older editions now and then use TPR, Kap, TS, EK, and aamc material for the new mcat as I get closer to test date.

Sounds like a good plan. I did only ek 101 passages and raised my score by 3 points on real mcat.

Definitely not a waste! I bought it as well, probably going to buy the new EK CARS book after I complete the old one!

When using the older edition, avoid the natural science passages as they are not tested anymore. But, I agree, those other passages can be a good source for practice.
